1 out of 5 eggs5 out of 10

Pros: nice coasters for your drinks. so far 5 out of ten were bad on burn start-up

Cons: coasters dont soak up glass condensation

Other Thoughts: what do you expect for ten dollars, plus they are made in india, the best are from japan....

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not write on Macs

Pros: Compact
Pull-out USB cord hidden inside for storage

Cons: It said it would work for Macs, but I tried many times, and it would not allow me to write to discs. I tried both using the OS's method of burning to a DVD and Roxio Toast. Time and time again, it would freeze. It also seemed flimsy when putting the tray back in. It seemed to not fit or be aligned, and then wouldn't close. I am returning this model for sure.

Other Thoughts: I am on Mac OS 10.6, a 2011 MacBook Pro.

2 out of 5 eggsQuestionable Quality

Pros: Discs look nice and were CHEAP ($10 / 50 pk).

Cons: Poor burn quality. Testing with Nero DiscSpeed, I'm getting PIF's in the 10,000+ range. Burned and tested with 2 different drives.

Other Thoughts: Made in India.
Manufacturer ID: TTH02.
I cannot comment on the print quality. I do not have a thermal printer.

5 out of 5 eggsa good value

Pros: the thermal white helps for printing onto the disc and such, and all of the discs have been successful with no coasters or bad discs prior to use.

Cons: the thermal printing layer on the ones I received was a bit glossy, it took a long time for the discs to dry prior to handling, that is my only complaint.

Other Thoughts: overall the discs I received served their purpose, the surface was too glossy and it required longer drying time after printing.

4 out of 5 eggsTDK thermal DVD

Pros: This is a thermal printable disk, not a ink jet printable disk.
It says so right in the title. Ink will run and smear on this disk.
The printer that the other reviewer used is an ink jet printer, that is why his disks images were messed up. Thermal printing uses temperature to create images and text.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Images are good, disc quality excellent, competitive pricing

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Per the other reviewers that had problems with these discs, it sounds like you were using these in an inkjet printer, like the Dymo Discpainter. These are not inkjet discs, they are for high-end thermal printers (a la Teac). The problems stated are a matter of the users using the right tool for the wrong job.

Do not buy these if you plan on using an inkjet printer. Otherwise, these work great with thermal printers.

1 out of 5 eggsnot good for me

Pros: none for me

Cons: After burning the disc I tried to print the label. I printed using a Dymo Discpainter, I have used this many times before. When the label finished printing I automatically put in another disc for printing. As I printed the third label I noticed I had smeared the 2nd label, I went back to the 1st label and smeared the ink again. The third disc I waited until the next day - I smeared the ink. So now I have 47 would be coasters left. I had even purchased a new ink cartridge for the Dymo ($40.00). Guess I will pick up lightscribe discs next time.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality print

Pros: None

Cons: I don't understand TDK's statement on the case. They state "coated with high performance printable surface". I found an extremely poor print quality. The ink does not blend into the printable material. As the ink dries, it seems to vaporize . After a reasonable amount of drying time, the lable faded considerably and did not dry. I was able to smear the ink from the surface. I would not recommend TDK printable DVD's. I will not be printing to the remainder of these DVD's and will most definately go back to purchasing from my original manufacturer.
