4 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: Picked these up when they were on sale and they've worked well for me. I use them for Linux backups to a Liteon iHBS112-2 using Nero for Linux.

Contrary to the advertising and labeling, the media id on these disks reports them as 10x, not 6x. While 10x is pushing it, I find that I can consistently burn successfully at 8 x.

Cons: Inconsistent results at 10x, but since the disks are only advertised as 6x, this is a nitpick

1 out of 5 eggsTDK DVD-RW Failure

Pros: I don't have any, but these discs may work for you.

Cons: These discs didn't work my DVD recorder. The problem is that each company puts a hidden ID code on their discs, and there's no way to tell before you purchase various brands of discs and put them in your DVD recorder whether a particular brand will work. From my experience no discs coming from Inovation (TDK & Memorex included) will work in my DVD-R.

Other Thoughts: I complained to the company, they directed me on how to find the hidden code, was told they would provide a replacement, and was sent the exact same disks as a replacement. I contacted them about and have heard nothing.

3 out of 5 eggsAverage

Pros: Capable of burning up to 10x with the proper Blu-ray burner.

Cons: Of the two burners I own, only the Pioneer (206) would burn it well, the LiteOn (iHBS212) doesn't.

Other Thoughts: These TDK Blu-ray discs are actually RITEK-BR3-000, which aren't known for longevity. Was hoping to get TDK MID, but ended up with Ritek. It really comes down to how the writing strategy within the burner's firmware handles the media. Pioneer has always dealt better with average quality discs such as Ritek.

Cons: 3 coasters out of 25

Pros: Looks like a professional quality disk. Not one error yet, and I am backing up 6 terabytes.

Cons: Generic labeling....who cares! Quality is incredible.
