5 out of 5 eggsGreat for data archiving

Pros: No coasters (so far)
Inkjet printable

Cons: None; knew I was getting slow discs
Takes 1-3 hours to write to capacity

Other Thoughts: These are perfect for data backup. If you want to throw a disc in and quickly burn a movie, look elsewhere. These are the kind of discs that are better suited for burning overnight or while you're watching a movie.

It does NOT take long to format these discs. Based on other reviews, I was expecting a long time. It takes no more than 2 minutes if you have Windows 7 or higher and only need the discs for data (i.e. drag and drop) via UDF format. You right click on the drive in Explorer and just click format. It may take longer with a commercial burning application, especially if you are burning video. Other issues may arise, which may explain some of the negative reviews, but so far I've had errors and no coasters.

I previously purchased 2 spindles of Memorex (15-pack) and to my disgust nearly HALF of all discs were bad. These RiDATA cost about the same yet they are inkjet printable, re-writable, and I get 20 more discs. The speed is super slow but I knew that and am fine with it since I am just using the discs for data backup.

Well worth the money, would recommend and buy again

5 out of 5 eggsIt can be burn and erased over and over

Pros: I got it for really cheap with special deal, less than $.40 per disc. It works great. I use a single disc to test copy, delete, copy, and then iso image burn the same disc and it works perfectly. I used w8.1 to delete the disc every time after copy files to it. Write speed only 2x is slow. But I already know that when I bought the 50-pack.

Cons: None considering such low cost of less than $.40/disc

Other Thoughts: My Blu-ray burner is
I use the free 64-bit CDBurnerXP. This program can burn the bluray disc better than several paid bluray burner software such as poewr2go v9, Nero burner.

4 out of 5 eggsMostly works. A few discs were faulty, but most are suitable for use.

Pros: Rewritable
Ink-jet printable

Cons: I've had three bad discs so far and I'm about half-way through the stack. This hasn't proven to be a huge problem since I didn't need all 50 discs anyways, but it is inconvenient to occasionally spend 45-60 minutes burning a disc and then have to repeat the process with another disc.

Something I didn't know about BD-RE discs is that they need formatted first thing before you can use them and this is a lengthy process, it basically doubles the time you'll need to spend burning the disc the first time it's used, afterwards it can be erased and reused quickly and easily though.

Other Thoughts: I'm still rating this highly despite the duds due to the price. I'd feel like an idiot if I honestly expected to only encounter 1 bad disc on a value pack, but be warned if you actually need 45 or more discs to hold your data that you might need to purchase two packs.

3 out of 5 eggsNot that bad

Pros: The price is fantastic. I use a Liteon ihbs112-2 writer, and I'm very rarely able to record 23GB to these, but I can always get at least 12GB, which works out okay for my use. I use them as a replacement for 8.5Gb RWs that never made it to market. They burn at the equivalent speed of a 4.7GB 6X, and are cheaper than any 4.7GB RWs out there, and I guarantee you that you can get more than 4.7GB on these guys. I usually mark the disc with the highest GB amount that I could fit on the disc, most of them are over 15GB. I use Imgburn, and have turned off the "full certification" and "without spare areas" settings on the first page of the "settings" Write Tab. This will ensure a "quick" format for your RWs, whether it be BDRE or just DVD. For those people that are turning off your PC to get your disc out, just turn off the "Lock" settings under the "settings" Device Tab. Most of your Optical burning software is going to be set to automatically LOCK the drive, until the process is finished.

Cons: I could give a con as not being able to consistently burn the full 23GB, but my BD writers weren't certified for this media, and I knew that going in, so I'm not giving a con for that. So I guess that I really haven't any cons.

Other Thoughts: If you want use these for a "best of" for some of your TV series, you can get quite a few episodes on them, and I've been able to reuse the ones I've used, multiple times. I think that I actually get more data on them, the more I use them. If you're wanting to check out a long running movie, before putting it on a permanent 8.5GB, then these are great for that, or if you just want to put a few movies together for a popcorn night.

3 out of 5 eggsDo NOT burn directly in Nero

Pros: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap and printable, and rewrite capability but can't imagine taking the time to rewrite

Cons: Coaster after coaster UNTIL I tried formatting the disks first in Windows 7 then tried burning in Nero. After that, burning much better. Still locks my ASUS burner the odd time and have to get paper clip to eject without turning off my computer.

1 out of 5 eggs1 spindle OK another spindle Junk

Pros: 50 discs for cheap

Cons: My first spindle of these had maybe 5 out of the 50 that wouldn't verify. And for the price that seemed fine. From the second spindle of these I've not had one of the 12 discs used work. I use ImgBurn, verify always give unreadable errors. Other spindles from RiDATA 4x BD-R, and 6x BD-R work like a charm

Other Thoughts: Thankfully when I bought them they were on sale 48% off

4 out of 5 eggsOK, but first time use is tricky

Pros: Works with my LG WH10LS30K. Burns at rated speed with Nero and ImgBurn. And the discs can be read by my Bluray player, a Sony BDP-S390.

Cons: The only hitch for me is the first time you write to one of these BD-RE's you have to format it which Imgburn will do automatically (Nero burns will just fail without formatting). BUT the formatting process takes 45-60 minutes and only then the burn process can start.

The workaround I've found for this is, using ImgBurn, start the burn like you normally would. ImgBurn will offer to format to disc, let the formatting start. Then when formatting gets to 2-3 % complete, I shut down my computer. Then when you boot up you have a BD-RE that can be used with Nero or ImgBurn. Again this is only for the 1st time you use a disc, all subsequent burns to that disc can be done in the normal re-writable fashion.

I have shut down the computer because ImgBurn won't let you close the program and even if you force-close it somehow the disc seems to continues with the formatting. It won't stop or eject. A system power cycle is the only way to stop it.
