OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
All the fancy components you install in your system won't matter if you don't have a PSU that delivers clean, consistent power. That's where Corsair comes in with their 450VX. This single rail design can pump out 33A/396W of +12v power for all your power hungry components. Certified 80 Plus, this unit runs at up to 85% efficiency and 99% Active Power Factor Correction to provide clean reliable power to your system.

The PSU comes with extra long cables for use in full tower cases, making it easier to route cables neatly so they don’t interfere with air flow. All the cables are mesh wrapped for a clean appearance and reduced air resistance so your cooling fans work better.

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Seasonic internals, single 12v rail, fantastic price.
Cons: none that an average user will ever be worried about.
Other Thoughts: this is a power supply, not a balloon. If you're dumb enough to rub it on the carpet and generate a static discharge, you shouldn't be claiming your level of technical knowledge is "high".

Pros: Watt ratings are over used and abused and mean next to nothing in the world of PC's. Main consideration is +12V amps and this one with +12V~33A is up there with the more expensive PSU's. Has the quietest fan of 6 in my PC. "Thumbs up" for this product.
Cons: Can't think of any, time will tell but I don't expect any trouble with it.
Other Thoughts: This is replacing a 350W +12V~20A PSU to start a complete upgrade of current PC to a dual core CPU rig.

Works as expected

white Reviewed By: palmboy5 on 11/20/2009

Tech Level Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Relatively quiet, definitely quieter than the OCZ GameXStream 700W that it replaced (due to noise and 700W being overkill). Cables are long enough for my P182 case.
Cons: It sometimes makes a faint chirp/clicking noise when I put my C2Q under load. It sounds like a cricket thats 200ft away when I'm sitting at my desk, but it's obvious the noise is coming from the PSU when I put my ear next to it. My Kill-A-Watt shows that the PSU is drawing 221W+ from the outlet during this time...
Other Thoughts: Why did the OCZ 700W's fan have to be so loud when even this 450W PSU can handle my system without becoming loud as well? I'd love to see OCZ give me a logical and meaningful answer.

Got my rebate

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Filed for $20 rebate in middle of September, got the rebate by middle of November. Better than average turnaround for this.

PSU is working fine. Don't notice it and can't hear it. The computer overall is so quiet I have to look to see if its running.
Cons: Rebate came in the form of a prepaid debit card from CITI. Use it quickly or fees will eat your rebate! Would have preferred a cheque.
