Works as expected
- Pros: Relatively quiet, definitely quieter than the OCZ GameXStream 700W that it replaced (due to noise and 700W being overkill). Cables are long enough for my P182 case.
- Cons: It sometimes makes a faint chirp/clicking noise when I put my C2Q under load. It sounds like a cricket thats 200ft away when I'm sitting at my desk, but it's obvious the noise is coming from the PSU when I put my ear next to it. My Kill-A-Watt shows that the PSU is drawing 221W+ from the outlet during this time...
- Other Thoughts: Why did the OCZ 700W's fan have to be so loud when even this 450W PSU can handle my system without becoming loud as well? I'd love to see OCZ give me a logical and meaningful answer.
Got my rebate
- Pros: Filed for $20 rebate in middle of September, got the rebate by middle of November. Better than average turnaround for this.
PSU is working fine. Don't notice it and can't hear it. The computer overall is so quiet I have to look to see if its running.
- Cons: Rebate came in the form of a prepaid debit card from CITI. Use it quickly or fees will eat your rebate! Would have preferred a cheque.
Excellent
- Pros: Solid and dependable, all voltages are perfectly within spec at idle and under load. Quiet. Cables are long enough for any case whether the power supply is located at the top or bottom, mid-size or full.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Powers my system without even breaking a sweat.
