Okay, it's a power supply. Not much excitement there unless it starts smoking, right? But if you can't work up excitement, how about some respect? Like the 41 Ampere +12V rail (and there's just the one +12V rail, so you don't have to balance your power needs by hand.). How about the ability to auto-sense your input voltage from 90Vac to 264Vac, 50/60Hz? No more damaging your supply because the voltage selector was in the wrong setting.
Run cooler, too, because it can be up to 85% efficient, meaning less waste heat from the supply. Compatible with both ATX 2.0 and ATX 2.2 systems, it includes long cables for even full-sized tower installations. Nvidia SLI support It includes power connections for six SATA drives. A 120mm variable speed fan with double bearings gives good airflow with minimal noise. Active power factor correction helps deal with inductive loads (drive and fan motors, mostly).
A modern power supply for modern computers, just for you.

Worth Every Cent
- Pros: Every connector you could ever need. VERY quiet fan. I'm running 2 HDD's, a dual core processor, PCI video card, a few case fans, and 2 DVD-R drives without any issue (as would be expected). One of my buddies referred me to Johnny Guru who gives a top-notch appraisal of this unit:
- Cons: I didn't suck it up and buy a good power supply years ago.
- Other Thoughts: I must have bought no less than 7 or 8 cheap power supplies in the last decade. Every time one went out, I rushed down to <insert generic computer parts store compatible with newegg's review policy> to buy the budget $30 everyday low price, everyday low quality power supply. This time when the original power supply that came with the case died on me, I thought I'd see what the expensive power supplies were all about. My conclusion: "they're worth it."
Outstanding, highly recommend
- Pros: Excellent build quality. Components, case, cables, and even the resail packaging are all top notch.
- Cons: I wish there was a connection to monitor fan speed, but this is minor. Also would like modular cables, but also not a big deal.
- Other Thoughts: No problems running with an Intel Q6600, 8800 GT graphics, 2 hard drives in a striped RAID, and a CD/DVD drive.

Died after 7 months,
- Pros: Quiet, does what it's supposed to.
- Cons: Died after 7 months. First PSU I've ever had go bad.
- Other Thoughts: Going to give this same one another shot though because of good word of mouth for the company. Will give it a better review if I don't have any trouble getting a replacement from Corsair.
Good PSU
- Pros: Many connectors, extremely quiet fan, I like the textured paint, not too heavy, able to power my system for > 1 year, cable lengths are pretty good. See Other thoughts for specs.
- Cons: This PSU is slowly dieing on my now that it's been over a year. I'm sure that this PSU would last much much longer, but when I built the PC, I didn't plan for overclocking or upgrades very well ... so I'm basically overdrawing from the PSU. The fan will speed up to max, blow VERY warm air, and eventually crash my PC due to unstable voltage.
Another con (I know, it's kinda lame). The Corsair stickers on the sides of the PSU came off after a week. The sticky adhesive doesn't adhere very well. I've also tried using clear tape to hold them on, but that didn't hold either ... I think it may be the textured paint on this PSU.
- Other Thoughts: I run a Phenom x4 9750 @ 2.6ghz w/ 4gb OCZ Reaper HPC @ 880mhz w/ Diamond Radeon HD 4850 @700/1100 with 160 GB Seagate and a 1TB Western digital hdd. I also have an X-Fi, wifi card USB expansion card and many fans connected to my system.
When my system is under full load, my APC XS1300 UPS backup battery shows that my system is drawing upwards of 380 watts from the wall socket
Nice but Died
- Pros: Looks very nice, large number of connectors and easy to install
- Cons: Died after one week. First time with a Corsair power supply, completed the RMA process. I hope the replacement is better.
