5 out of 5 eggsCorsair CMPSU-750TX

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I bought 2 of these, one in late 2008(?) and the other in Feb 2009. They have both been used heavily on a daily basis for HOURS of non-stop gaming, video rendering for school projects and any number of other abuses we tend to dig up.
We turn our computers on and off 2-3 times a day and both of these units have always been there reliably.

We have run our computers with 4x 7200 RPM drives each (2 for system drives before SSD's and 2 for storage) and never had a single problem with these PSU's!

Wanted to buy another for my back office PC this year and am very sad to see they discontinued this model for a new version that does not seem to be as ROCK SOLID.

Cons: LONG cables (only a problem for smaller cases so not really a con for me).

Other Thoughts: Computer 1:
i7 920
Asus P6T
Asus GeForce 660 OC (2GB) upgraded from Radeon HD 6870
Kingston 1600 RAM (24GB kit)
Samsung SSD (upgraded from 2x WD 7200 in RAID 0)

Computer 2:
Intel Q9650
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Corsair 1066 RAM (8GB kit)
Radeon HD 6870
Samsung SSD (upgraded from 2x WD 7200 in RAID 0)

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I've had this PS for going on 4 years. With the exception of the occasional power loss to the house, this PS hasn't been turned all this time.

Cons: I don't know about the noise issues since I keep my system in the basement. In any case, if there is a noise it hasn't affected the performance at all.

5 out of 5 eggs4 years and going strong!

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Bought back in January of 2010 (price hasn't changed at all) for my first gaming PC build. I've never had a single issue with it and have been running my PC steadily since then.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I don't do much on overclocking or stress testing on the PC and this is a bit overpowered for my build, so I imagine that helps longevity.

5 out of 5 eggsThe bold and the Powerful

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I have had this PSU for over one year and it is a tank, it has run anything veI thrown at it and ran it with no issues....i have dual 6870s with an Phenom X6 overclocked and no issues so far.

Cons: Its not modular.....it was a pain to install this in my mid tower case

Other Thoughts: well newegg is out of stock but since this is corsair's V1 I would recommended their newer version which has less issues with the "smart fan"

3 out of 5 eggsGood but....

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Worked great, it powered two 8800GTX's no problem. Then I upgraded to a 500 Series card. Worked great until....

Cons: It burned out after 2 years of use. Couldn't find the receipt and had to bite the bullet on this one.

Other Thoughts: I know things go bad sometimes but man that was a short period. I still have an old 600w Ultra that works, not well but it still powers my computer.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This PSU has been in a system that gets daily use for over 3 years now and is still going strong. I have purchased two of these and neither one of them have given me an issue.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Although I have transferred it around several times to different setups for the most part this one has been in a i7 920, P6x58D prem. MSI 460 talon, 500 gb. without issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Easy to install and get running.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Buy modular if you can spare the expense. Having extra wires is just a pita as well as an extra burden on cooling.

2 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It provides power

Cons: The power supply fan started to hesitate to start randomly, did some research and found a bunch of other people had this issue as well. I went and bought ANOTHER Corsair at a local store and that one started make a loud pitched piercing noise when it was being stressed. I went with another brand and won't be returning to Corsair.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: - Great color scheme
- Tons of power, especially on the 12v rail
- Long cables
- All the cable types and amounts that you could possibly want
- Third purchase of this PSU and it has not let me down yet

Cons: - Length and amount of cables can make for a potential cable management nightmare

Other Thoughts: - PSU did not come in a felt bag like all of my other Corsair PSU purchases. This makes me feel like it is refurbished or something fishy is going on. I purchased the PSU a little over a month ago and just now realized it when I went to look for the bag. I will be contacting Newegg with regards to this matter and will adjust egg rating accordingly.

1 out of 5 eggsFaulty Product, AMAZING SUPPORT

This review is from: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Compatible with New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Great PSU, Great Company.

Cons: Faulty Fan Design. It sorta makes a jittery noise from stop/starting at certain power draw levels.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid this unit. Buy from this company.
