If you're looking for a power supply to feed your hungry system, look no further. The new HX1000 PSU from Corsair puts out an impressive 1000 watts of power and supports the latest ATX12V v2.2 standards as well as EPS12V 2.91 standards. The unit is 80 PLUS certified and has a 99% Active Power Factor Correction to ensure maximum efficiency.
The cables are extra long to work in the largest tower. They are fully sleeved for easy routing and bundling. There are six 8-pin PCIe power connectors so you can build up a CrossFire or SLI system using today’s high end video cards. There are also 12 SATA and 12 Molex connectors so you can connect multiple drives and peripherals.
Keeping it all cool is a temperature-controlled 140mm fan. Air is vented through the hexagon mesh back panel. The universal input accepts voltages from 90V to 264V so you no longer have to worry if the switch was in the right position.

I'm not the only one.
- Pros: It's modular so it saves lots of space in the case since you can power just what you need instead of having lots of extra cables of things your not using hanging there looking ugly. Plus Corsair is a popular, quality known brand.
- Cons: It started making a ticking noise after a month of use. It's loud enough to bother you, I can hear it over my games and music, If I turn the volume up loud enough to drown out the ticking noise, it's too loud for me to play comfortably cause it hurts my ears. I took the time to take it out and look to see if I could figure out what it was, I tightened the fan cover screws, then removed the guard completely but it still didn't fix the problem, it's internal somewhere and I don't have the confidence or knowledge to fully take it apart to try and fix it. I don't want to deal with paying for the shipping for the return after spending twenty eight hundred bucks on new egg, I already had to return two items so I will have to just save up the money for a new/and or different brand and unit later.
- Other Thoughts: I re-wrote my comment to make it more detailed to try and help others a bit more.
This power supply should be flawless for the price, if you look at the ratings you should be able to buy confidently, very few have had problems with this supply, which proves this unit is most likely going to be the one you want, lets be realistic, things happen with products. I unfortunately got a faulty product. It's a shame, but it's life.
One of the best PSU out there
- Pros: This power supply is awesome. Modularity is definitely a selling point. There are 4 cables that are not modular. The 24 Pin ATX cable, the 8 pin motherboard power cable and it also includes 2 6-pin PCI-E cables that are extra long. For all you folks running just one GPU such as the 8800GTX you don't even have to hook any modular power cables up. Very clean power delivery. It has a nice black case with a big 140mm fan.
- Cons: It's big and heavy, it's about a quarter size bigger than the HX620W. Modular cables are not very flexible. This is me nitpicking but they should of kept all the wires for the 8 pin and 2x 6pin black in color like they did for all the modular cables, instead of mixing yellow in there.
- Other Thoughts: This price is above MSRP, you can find it somewhere else for around $240 and that is if they have it in stock.

Worked great for the time it worked
- Pros: worked great for the first 3 weeks. voltages were solid all the way accross.
- Cons: only worked for 3 weeks then blew out.
- Other Thoughts: not all of them can be perfect from the factory, seems like i just got a bad one. once the new one shows up I'm sure it will be rock solid.
Amazing PSU
- Pros: Phenomenal modular power supply. The cables are long enough to fit in my full tower case. Plenty of power and the dual rail design is an awesome idea to help with efficiency of the unit.
Jonnyguru gave it either a 9 or 9.5. It's got great efficiency, handles any kind of temperature without losing efficiency, and has awesome ripple control across the boards. And you get a carry case for all of the modular cables you don't use so you don't lose them :)
- Cons: The fan doesn't glow blue, but nothing a touch of modding can't take care of :)
- Other Thoughts: The cables may be a touch short for the MASSIVE full tower cases
Awesome Power Supply
- Pros: Great Power Supply. Controlling two GTX 260 SSC's, 7 fans, two hdd's, two DVD drives, cold cathode lights. No problems at all. Stll have room to add more.
- Cons: None
