If you're looking for a power supply to feed your hungry system, look no further. The new HX1000 PSU from Corsair puts out an impressive 1000 watts of power and supports the latest ATX12V v2.2 standards as well as EPS12V 2.91 standards. The unit is 80 PLUS certified and has a 99% Active Power Factor Correction to ensure maximum efficiency.
The cables are extra long to work in the largest tower. They are fully sleeved for easy routing and bundling. There are six 8-pin PCIe power connectors so you can build up a CrossFire or SLI system using today’s high end video cards. There are also 12 SATA and 12 Molex connectors so you can connect multiple drives and peripherals.
Keeping it all cool is a temperature-controlled 140mm fan. Air is vented through the hexagon mesh back panel. The universal input accepts voltages from 90V to 264V so you no longer have to worry if the switch was in the right position.

One of the best PSU out there
- Pros: This power supply is awesome. Modularity is definitely a selling point. There are 4 cables that are not modular. The 24 Pin ATX cable, the 8 pin motherboard power cable and it also includes 2 6-pin PCI-E cables that are extra long. For all you folks running just one GPU such as the 8800GTX you don't even have to hook any modular power cables up. Very clean power delivery. It has a nice black case with a big 140mm fan.
- Cons: It's big and heavy, it's about a quarter size bigger than the HX620W. Modular cables are not very flexible. This is me nitpicking but they should of kept all the wires for the 8 pin and 2x 6pin black in color like they did for all the modular cables, instead of mixing yellow in there.
- Other Thoughts: This price is above MSRP, you can find it somewhere else for around $240 and that is if they have it in stock.
Corsair HX1000
- Pros: I'm not so sure I can list them all but I'll try and keep it short and sweet. TRI SLI certified, and yes it can run 3 gtx 280's overclocked along with E6850 clocked at 3.71ghz. 7 LED case fans and 3 non led fans, 4 usb devices, 2 HD's, 1 burner , 4 gigs of DDR3 ram @1900 mhz. And to think Nvidia doesn't have this listed to run TRI SLI gtx 280 is a shame, it does it no problem. I played crysis for 4 hours straight at 2560 x 1600 resolution, straining those video cards and I had no lock ups or freezes whatsoever, I had to call it quits and go make dinner. Comes with a nice storage bag for all your cables ,and I didn't even use them all. Cables are flat which makes it easy to route through your case. Modular , Use only the cables you need for your set up. plenty of zip ties to keep things tidy, even comes with a case sticker. 1000 watts of continuous power @ 50 degrees celsius.(This baby has more under the hood than what she shows) OK, I said short and sweet.
- Cons: Can't give it a 6 out of 5.
- Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a top quality high end psu, look no further. This PSU will power even the most demanding rig. I would recommend this to anyone .It powers my setup and doesn't even break a sweat. Can't wait to watercool my QX9650. Awesome PSU Corsair.

Two of these have died on me
- Pros: -It's a very good power supply, when it's working.
-Corsair has excellent customer support! That alone gives the product the extra egg. Just this PSU is not all it's cracked up to be, reliability-wise. -The flat cables are very good for cable management. -Fits perfectly in the Corsair 800D.
- Cons: As I said, two have died on me in about eight months. That's simply not acceptable.

Awesome, cool cables
- Pros: High power
Came with its own awesome box of connectors and cables rock solid
- Cons: None so far
- Other Thoughts: Was heck getting a screw out of the inside, the stuff is semi-magnetic or something
DOA
- Pros: ???
- Cons: DOA. RMA'd it for a refund and hit the local store to get a different PSU since I needed the PC up and running fast.
- Other Thoughts: Thought it was the motherboard, glad I did the "paper clip" test to see that it was the PSU that was dead.
