3 out of 5 eggsA good PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: -Comes in exquisite packaging with it's own carry bags for the PSU and the cables.
-Virtually silent when not under load, but see note in cons section.
-Power delivery is great and I got a stable 4.3GHz OC on my i5 4690k.
-GPU OC is great too with a R9 290 at 1120CC/1500MC.

Cons: -This is advertised as a silent mode PSU where the fan does not spin up until 20 percent load. However the problem is when 20 percent load is achieved, the fan spins up rapidly and there is a quite of bit of noise generated along with some vibration.

Other Thoughts: I would avoid if you may have a problem with fans spinning up from load.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice and powerful

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Easy installation, love the modular connectors. I really like the idea that the fan does not run unless it reaches a certain load. That helps keep dust out of the psu and case.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is the nicest psu I ever purchased. It came with every type of cable you could need...plus it came in a nice velvet bag and the cables had their own Velcro enclosed wallet.

1 out of 5 eggsConsider Another PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Packaging and cables appear to be good quality and it's somewhat modular not completely.

Cons: After three months of use I had the odd rare reboot of my PC for no reason I brushed it off as Windows update or my virus scanner updating and me missing the "I'm going to reboot to complete update process" Fast forward 9 months later and he computer started rebooting frequently as I put more work load on it but no where near stressing the PSU. Hardware used on my PC is two SSDs one HD one GTX680 video card and the rest of the normal stuff keyboard, mouse etc. I upgraded the PSU to 750w to ensure that the needs of average use would be fulfilled. It appears that other have very similar experiences as I do and the build quality of these PSUs are just not that great.

Other Thoughts: I went through the RMA process and received a brand new PSU still in shrink wrap my model prior was a silver and the replacement was a gold. With that being said the shipping my old PS back and getting the replacement took over 3 weeks and $35 out of my pocket. I ended up buying another brand of PSU since my confidence level in this one is nil. I now have a nice shrink wrapped paper weight. Hopefully you read these comments before pulling the trigger and consider another brand for PSU do not be brand loyal because your case or RAM is good. I'd say their PSU manufacturing division is not up to par. Customer service on the RMA process is good.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch more than I expected.

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet operation under idle/web browsing load. Cables are long, wrapped, and fit my mid tower case with slack to spare. Really like the modular power cable design. Helped keep my case clean.

Bought this power supply to replace my old 550 with a failing fan in my budget gaming rig. Wanted to make sure my fan had not died from having to run at full tilt because of load. To my surprise this 750 doesn't turn the fan at all unless I'm in AAA games and only runs at low laughing at my systems power draw. I run an I7 with a mid tier Radeon video card, 2 7200 rpm HDs, and a mix of 120/240mm case fans.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: At a little over 100 bones this was a big purchase for my budget gaming box but I'm so glad I ponied up. Reduced noise level is very nice. And I know I have power for growth. Not anything to do with operation but it came with a nice pouch that holds the extra modular cables so you don't have them loose everywhere and the whole thing came in a nice Corsair branded nylon lined felt draw string bag. Nice touch. Book says 7 year warranty and I hope I don't ever need to test it.

4 out of 5 eggsSupposed High Quality

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 1) Power supply tier lists list the HX series as a Tier 2a which tells me that this is very high quality
2) All Japanese capacitors supposedly means high quality
3) Fan is not in use until under a certain load
4) Comes with very nice cloth bag for modular cables
5) Packaging is very, very nice.

Cons: 1) When fan turns on during "load" it can be annoying as it is noticeable because it turns from silent to not. It is audible but not loud.
2) Fan turns on during "load", but I it would sometimes turn on while I am just browsing the internet. During the first week of using it I was overclocking my CPU so I understand that it would turn on under load. However, I don't understand why it would not just stay on during stress tests. I would turn on and on intermittently.
3) Some of the modular cables like for PCIe have blue colored connectors which ruin the black, sleek look of the interior of my system and PSU.

Other Thoughts: This is supposedly a high quality power supply with the main feature of the fan inactive during low loads. The fan can certainly be audible during load, but it is not loud. I wonder if it is at all possible the fan can spin slower for quieter operation though.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat P/S

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I've been using this P/S for over a year now with no trouble. I usually stick with Antec power supplies but have only heard good things about Corsair power supplies so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I love the modular cables, installing only what I need.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I don't think I'm even getting close to taxing this power supply. I've never seen or heard the fan run in it which at first may sound like a defect, but it never even gets warm enough to warrant the fan running, so I suppose this is normal. I'm current running an Intel i7 2600 @ 3.4GHz on an Intel DZ68DB motherboard with 16GB of RAM. The power supply is powering 4 1TB WD black drives and a PNY GTS250 video card. Even when playing games such as Dead Island this power supply stays cool to the touch.
