5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong after 3 years

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I have had the older version of this PSU running strong in my PC for 3+ years. Fan is silent. Cables are a nice length. Good clean power.

This PSU has seen two platform upgrades and two cases. Fits perfectly in my CM HAF XB case.

Cons: None. Great reliable PSU. Corsair has never let me down.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: As in previous review dated ~ 12-2012

Cons: As in previous review

Other Thoughts: PSU failed bad. Some caps went KA-BLEWY.
Corsair honored warranty with NO problems.
I sent the unit back in original box with all components (cost $25) Corsair concurred and have sent me a NEW replacement.

A guy can't ask for more then that

1 out of 5 eggsNot a Fan of the Noise

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It actually is a nice power supply, when the fan isn't running !!

Cons: Unbelievably loud fan noise. The Ong Hua HA1425H12B-Z fan Corsair decided to put in this power supply is of very poor quality and insanely loud. You can't even find a data sheet on this fan so who knows what kind of sweat shop it came out of. Once I saw just how subpar this fan was, I voided my warranty and tried to replace the HA1425H12B-Z with a Noctura NF-A14 FLX, Noctura NF-A14 PPC-2000 and a Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PK3 to no avail. The problem is the high quality fans require at least 4.5V to run while the HA1425H12B-Z will run on as little as 3V. This means this power supply was designed specifically for this cheap fan and never intended for a quality fan from a reputable company.

Other Thoughts: I've owned Corsair power supplies in the past but the bitter disappointment in the HX750 will have me looking else where for my next power supply.

Pros: Great components within.
Good pricing.
Modular.
Comes with the perfect amount of cables and accessories.
Great Packaging.

Cons: A minuscule amount of coil whine under low loads.
The cable sockets felt a little bit stiff during installation.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU while it works.

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Well built, efficient, Modular power supply. Comes with many extra cables and even a nice bag for keeping your extras. I was quite happy when I first received this product and installed it in the Corsair 600T Case i bought along with it.

Cons: I bought this item on the sole idea that it was a quality product and hoped it would last at least through it's 7 year warranty without issue.

2 years into normal use and it's pretty well junk. computer reboots at random, or anytime I try to put the system under load. I have contacted Corsair and setup an RMA but am currently trying to get a replacement shipped to me before i ship the old one back. I shouldn't have to lose the use of my PC because Corsair's poor quality parts.

1 out of 5 eggsThird RMA and dead after around a year (update from previous review)

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: The unit feels nice and sturdy. Comes with plenty of cables and even a carry case.

Cons: This was my third RMA. First unit detonated (sparks out the back of the computer, tripped APC battery backup. Second replacement hummed/buzzed loudly. Sounded like a possible bad fan of vibrating regulator coil. So onto my third replacement. I built another system from the ground up (new mobo, processor, RAM, case, etc). I used the third RMA in this new system (old system was donated to a friend). After around a year, the new computer would not turn on. Performed basic troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the mobo or PSU. Replaced the PSU with my old trusty raidmax and would you have it, it powered on. I am not happy with my experience, and would not recommend this PSU to anyone. After cursing Corsairs voodoo doll in my room, I disassembledd the PSU to see what was wrong. I'm still in the process of testing the components myself, however I was shocked to see the power transistors are simply mounted to a plate of metal under the fan (would not consider it a heatsink by any stretch). Will be ordering a Seasonic as a replacement!

4 out of 5 eggsPWS failed but Corsair came through

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Modular cables, easy to bend and manipulate

Cons: PWS was causing shutdowns after about a week. It wouldn't totally shut down - it would go to a black screen and the fans would rev up and down. At first it was only once every 3-5 days so it was hard to narrow down the failure. After the 5th or 6th week it started to fail every ten minutes so it was easy to narrow down at that point.

Other Thoughts: My 4 star rating is mostly for corsair support. RMA was easy, they allowed an express RMA, and since they were completely out of this unit (maybe from replacing them?) they upgraded me to an AX760. Great customer service from Corsair.

4 out of 5 eggsworks okay

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I received a Dud, failed after a few months. Corsair replaced it with a new unit(1 wk turnaround). Works fine otherwise. nice assortment of bundled cables.

This power supply replaced an older unit that had problems with my Haswell board.

Cons: the fumes when opening the package are quite strong. you may want to air it out a few days.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

This review is from: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Solid and well built. 750watts more than enough too run most systems with single video cards. partly modular lends to less cables in case and better air flow.

Cons: Price is a little higher than some but you get what you pay for and you do not want to cheap out on the power supply unit for your system.

Other Thoughts: The 750 gives my system setup power to spare. Really only needed a 650w. Have another corsair 750 in other system going strong for over 3 years.
my system has:
Asus 1150 MB
4590 CPU
240GB SSD
650GB western Digital HD
DVD
Sound card
760 NVidia video card
