Legendary performance and reliability.

Quiet operation at low loads, modular cabling and 80 PLUS Gold efficiency makes HX Series PSUs a great choice for high-performance PCs. HX Series power supplies generate less heat, so they require less cooling, and the thermally controlled fan only spins when it’s needed. The modular cable set allows you to use only the cables you need for your particular set of components to improve your system heat dissipation and ensure a neat inner look. 80 PLUS Gold certified, the CORSAIR HX650 delivers up to 90% energy efficiency under real-world load conditions to keep your PC cool and quiet, and your power bill down.

  • newegg 80 PLUS GOLD CERTIFIED The 80 PLUS Gold certified power supply provides high power efficiency of at least 87% at any load between 20% and 100%, saving you money on your electrical bill, reducing heat in your computer's system and prolonging its life.
  • newegg 650W continuous power output with strong single +12V rail The Corsair HX650 power supply provides a maximum power of 650W at a server-grade 50°C temperature rating to deliver safe, reliable output for high-end computer systems. • newegg MODULAR CABLE DESIGN The modular cable design makes installation a breeze and allows use of only the cables you need resulting in improved internal airflow and reduced system clutter.
  • newegg Two PCI-E connectors With two 6+2-pin PCI-E connectors, the Corsair HX650 is ideal for high end graphics card.
  • newegg Quiet cooling An ultra-quiet, 140mm double ball-bearing fan delivers excellent airflow with exceptionally low noise levels by varying fan speed in response to temperature.

5 out of 5 eggsSteady goodness

Pros: So far it is working perfectly. Years ago I made the mistake of buying an off-brand cheapie. Now I have 2 of these in 2 rigs working beautifully. Stay with a major brand for your PS. It is the heart of your system.

Good design and modular cables.

Cons: Zero complaints.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps a more aggressive rig will require more than 650 and the next PS likely will be gold rated- but there isn't any need to change for a long time.

However, I wont buy any component that can be seen by myself or other from Corsair until they switch back to the sails logo. Why would they hurt such a good reputation with a stunt like that?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Zero problems, even after getting water inside the case and frying some other components. Modular, which helps with keeping the case tidy.

I only came to write a review because I wanted to check my old invoices to see which PSU I'd previously purchased - so I could buy it all over again.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggscorsair

Pros: its a corsair. its super quiet, even under load. all the cables are very long (which was actually an issue in my itx case, but for most of you the longer cables are probably a plus). reviews ive seen of this unit show it can output way more than its rated 650 watt without breaking a sweat (just buy a bigger supply if you need more power though, seriously). modular cables are nice.

Cons: the first unit i got had a bad fan on it. i understand that this fan doesn't operate at low loads, but my first unit overheated because even under extreme load the fan never spun up. newegg replaced it immediately, no questions asked. even with the best there's bound to be some duds out there, so its no big deal really.

Other Thoughts: it came with floppy connectors. i find that to be hilarious. i nearly forgot what decade i was living in.

the cables are a bit stiff. it makes them a tad hard to manage if you're a stickler about cable management like I am, but with some patience and some effort they will conform to whatever shape you need. once you've got it all set they'll stay put pretty well, even without zip ties.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Great!! No MIR card??

Pros: Great PSU for the price!! Cables were long enough to reach all of the components throughout the case.

Cons: No Mail-In rebate card? I was supposed to get a rebate card, yet nothing was with the packaging or sent afterward. What's the deal?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Rebate Process flawed

Pros: Efficient, quiet

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Rebate process much more restrictive than other products...21 days versus 30 days.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked for my build

Pros: Semi Modular with the cables you know you will need attached and the rest optional. The fan not running under low power usage makes it quiet. I have not heard it run of my quiet case fans.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Provides efficient, steady power.
Quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Assuming you have parts that use only up to 650W you shouldn't have any problems with this. Mine has been working flawlessly for the 7 months that I've had it so far.
