4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product, Rebate Process flawed

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Efficient, quiet

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Rebate process much more restrictive than other products...21 days versus 30 days.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked for my build

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Semi Modular with the cables you know you will need attached and the rest optional. The fan not running under low power usage makes it quiet. I have not heard it run of my quiet case fans.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Provides efficient, steady power.
Quiet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Assuming you have parts that use only up to 650W you shouldn't have any problems with this. Mine has been working flawlessly for the 7 months that I've had it so far.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Semi Modular, only had to plug in what was necessary.
Came with an abundance of cable zip ties.

Cons: Put into a full tower case the had to use 2 SATA power cables to reach all drives, not really a con just extra cords.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother Great Product From Corsair

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Fully Modular = better cable management
-High build quality
-More than enough power for 2-way SLI/Cross-Fire
-Efficient
-Stable

Cons: -A single GTX 970 is already powerful enough for 1080p
-A Single GTX 970 only requires a bare minimum of a 500Watt power supply installed

Other Thoughts: Would recommend to anyone with a 1440p or higher resolution gaming setup, or just someone who wants a high quality modular power supply.

2 out of 5 eggsChirping -> GPU power failed after 1.5 yrs

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Semi modular

Cons: Made a chriping noise under load, which has previously been described. I made a brief attempt to RMA it for a HX750, but gave up on the RMA, and I ended up just getting used to the chirping. Then, started having graphics issues under load (of note the chirping stopped) after 1.5 yrs of use. Found to be the HX650 PSU was the problem. I expected more from a Corsair product.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Black, Quiet, WORKING.

Cons: Wish it came with a few more connectors and maybe a tad longer cables.

Other Thoughts: This replaced an Ultra X2 750W PSU that was starting to go after 6yrs.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Builder's PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Have used an HX850 for more than a year!
HX650 - Modular Cabling, Nice for tight spaces.
Cable lengths are excellent.
Nice case for the "spare parts"
Came with some mini zip ties!
Got this in a great sale, with an even better rebate.
Output Voltages are dead on, even when stressed a good bit.
Matches nicely with the Corsair Carbide 200R.

Cons: Strong "new electronic smell!" It took 3 days of nearly 24/7 power on time to eliminate the smell. My guess is that it is some of the securing goop that is used on the caps to prevent wiggle.

I would love to have 2 more PCIe connector modules since this PSU could power a dual Video Card build I made and my original Video card choice wanted dual PCIe's power connectors. (I changed the cards to ones that use only one PCIe power connector to resolve it.) Not really a problem, since I could have just gotten the HX750, except that the HX650 was in a huge sale.

Other Thoughts: The smell issue is not worth an egg, because I have encountered similar things before from new electronics, but it was very strong the first few days! It does go away!

Ever since my experience with the HX850, I have included this line of Power supply in my build designs, and this is my first chance to try the smaller one on a small replacement build. I could not pass up the savings from the sale and the rebate when I saw it. For the cost of a 80/Bronze get-me-by PSU, I got a quality Corsair HX series Modular PSU.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay?

This review is from: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Not sure yet!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I previously had a Corsair CX750 with a FX-8350 water cooled, running with an R9 280x. But recently I went to a GTX 970 for the efficiency, quiet fans, and cooler operation. So I figured with a power hog GPU running previously I would be able to step down to a 650 watt PSU. Apparently not, I went to turn it on hoping for the best yet it wont turn on. I even trolled around on some blogs and forums, and everything seemed as though it should work. Some even said that SLI was even possible when using an Intel processor and few drives.
