5 out of 5 eggsStill Going

Pros: I have been running mine since early 2011. The power supply has not had a hiccup yet. So it appears that the lifetime is highly variable.

Cons: Not cheap.

2 out of 5 eggsRIP

Pros: Reliable and worked great for 2 years!

Cons: PSU died! After 2 years of use system would only power up intermittently. Thought it was a mobo issue even though it was 2 years old as well. Took it to a computer store where the technician found it to be the PSU. Normal life expectancy should be around 3-5 years from what I've read depending on the usage.

2 out of 5 eggsAX850 Professional Series

Pros: Well done PSU, and Cable Management. Plenty of connectors, and well wrap for a clean look

Cons: After 2 years, had Issues with System freezing, turning off,
then later, will not turn on, what so ever, and for so apparent reason turns back on. Fought this for a while, since was my son's PC. Finally, just a few days ago, decide to tackle this issue. I disbelief to be the PSU, and thought to be the MB, but no errors, no beeps, is a good MSI MB. I was replacing the case from a 600 t cosair white to a Gray one, That when I decided to replace the PSU unit, was simpler with a new PSU SeaSonic X Series X-850 one I had in hand to build a new PC. to my surprise work like a charm...Shocked to believe that the Corsair will do this, and seeing reviews
that many have the same issues, made me add this review.

Other Thoughts: My system by coincidence ended up to be corsair Case 600T, the H70, Corsair memory, and cosair, solid state drive a Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F120GB3, in which I may add it has it's issues at times were it will not be recognize by the Bios, yes Corsair Drive issues, and one that now I will send to be replace before the Warranty expires. Otherwise Cosair is pretty good and in memory I never had and issues with Corsair. But for the Power supply.... very disappointed...

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic PSU

Pros: The gold certification really does make a difference. I noticed about a $5 difference on my power bills once I got this. It's been working flawlessly for over two years now and will pay for itself should it last another 2.

Cons: Price (but you get what you pay for), however it should pay for itself over time.

Other Thoughts: I own a 800D case and it's a bit tight getting the 12V Motherboard cable attached. It was a tight fit and hasn't caused any structural damage on both motherboards I've used since owning this PSU. They do sell extensions for cheap at my local computer store, but Corsair ought to include one in the box for people who use monster sized cases like me to make installation a little easier.
