4 out of 5 eggs3.5 years later...

Pros: This guy had a good life. For 3.5, it sat in my server 24/7 without issue.

Cons: It's only 430W. I've upgraded my motherboard and this PSU just can't handle the work. Time to replace.

4 out of 5 eggsCan't complain

Pros: - It works
- Hasn't blown up

Cons: I sometimes notice a high pitched whining that seems to be coming from this power supply. I've heard that other corsair CX series power supplies have been known to do this. Not really a con though, just maybe a bit concerning to me.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!

Pros: high quality for a budget power supply.
Very, very quiet.
half price with rebates ($24.99) and free shipping.

Check out jonnyguru.com for this power szupply. it gets very good reviews.

Cons: None considering the price, but this version isn't 80Plus certified like the V2 version and same price without rebates.

Remember, this is only 430 watts max. be careful if you overclock and have a video card that needs to use the PCIe power cord as it may push you to your PSU limits. Very hazardous going over 50% power 24/7 on any power supply. This PSU will handle any video that doesn't need a power cord for it to work. Heck, it even handles my 8-core to 4.450GHz OC without issues. very nice PSU.

Other Thoughts: I have had this running on many different rigs over the last year and it has been flawless. It ran my 2600K, HD 5870 with ease. Barely got warm under heavy stress tests.

Currently on my AMD FX-8120 8-core overclocked to 4.450GHz with a 7750 and it goes over 330Watts full load according to my power meter I bought recently. It barely gets warm as well.

Full load is Kromtor (Furmark) for video and Prime95 together for full hour minimum several dozen times and overnight a couple of times.

There is a newer version V2 of this and it's suppose to be even better for the same price.

4 out of 5 eggsUse for all basic comps

Pros: This PSU has all the goodies and cords you could want, it has ample sata power, a a few of the old ones that run IDE devices, and a floppy. I have only recieved one DOA out of many.

Cons: There is some coil whine ( a high pitched [people over 30 or so probably can not hear but i am 18 at the time of writing this so it is annoying for me] whine) though from a few feet away it goes away.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Work great right out of the box. I'm running duel hard drives and DVD burner with no issues at all. The nice thing about this P/S is that it drop my pwr usage by over 30 watts. Totally happier with this purchase and a steal with the rebate that I just received.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsFirst PSU was RMA'd. Replacement seems good so far.

Pros: The first one I bought lasted about a week before it quietly died. Now using an RMA replacement and it hasn't given me any issues since. Haven't had any coil whine or fan noise since I received it and it seems to be running the fileserver flawlessly.

Cons: None really other than the first one lasting me a week.

Other Thoughts: Time will tell if it'll hold together. Given my experience with the first one I'm not certain that it'll last.

1 out of 5 eggsBurned two Mobos

Pros: "Looks" solid

Cons: Burns Mobos. Return shipping for Rma is $16 ..

Other Thoughts: It burned two Mobos.I wish I could sue Corsair for this.
I was not sure for the first Mobo and tested with a brand new second one. At first Mobo CPU fan was on even Pc was off. On the second one, mobo turned on twice..Then off .Fans come on but no response from the Mobo..No beep etc.I used to think that Corsair was a good brand. But almost 1 out of 5 rating is 1start. Doa or other issues.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: - Decent quality, inexpensive, enough power for 95% of PCs.

- 24pin connector is actually a 20pin and 4pin connector snapped together.

Cons: - The fan is too loud at idle; it should be silent, but it isn't.
- Replacing the fan with something better voids the warranty (but it is easy to do.)
- Coil whine; this will never be a silent PSU. Simply plugging the unit into the wall is enough to trigger noticeable whine.

Other Thoughts: I've used both the V2 and V1, and besides some minor packaging and efficiency differences they're identical, with the same problems and strengths.

Noise is subjective. If you have sensitive hearing and a very quiet PC in a quiet room, the whine from this supply will be annoying. The majority of people will probably think this unit is completely silent.
