1 out of 5 eggsthe fan spin up

Pros: worked

Cons: gets relay hot with out fan spinning up
will never spin up system never gets that hot
poor design

Other Thoughts: will never buy a thermal trip fan PSU

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Corsair Customer,
It is normal for the fan to not spin unless it needs to and for most types of builds the fan will not spin very often. . Just to be sure your PSU is functioning normally I would recommend that you please contact our Tech Support team using the following link and they would be happy to help troubleshoot further or replace the unit for you through an RMA if need be.

They can also be reached by phone using the toll free number listed on our contact page: http://www.corsair.com/us/company/contact/
Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

3 out of 5 eggsLongevity

Pros: very quiet.
Corsair no-hassle warranty resolution

Cons: Wore out in 2 years (5 year warranty)

Other Thoughts: Corsair took care of the warranty replacement quickly and to my satisfaction, but I still had to buy a new supply to keep my computer working while it shipped to California and back.

3 out of 5 eggsThey should have sticked with SeaSonic

Pros: Bears the TX850 V2 title.

Cons: Those are TX850 Version 3 you are getting made by CWT. It's easy to tell they are no longer the V2 made by Seasonic --- The box doesn't say V2, nor the power supply itself or the model number, And if you search the part number you will see it's made by CWT instead of Seasonic. And all the TX series have that horrible fan controller issue where the fans don't spin unless PSU gets really warm. Oh did I mention coil whine under heavy load as well?

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and get a real Seasonic unit instead. This is not Seasonic made.

5 out of 5 eggsI love Corsair

Pros: 1.) Feels well built.
2.) Looks good Black box, Bright text
3.) Sleeves makes me happy, but wires r very tuff which is goin to happen inevitably when wires get thick.
4.) Plenty of plugs & length of the wires.
5.) Boxing was great it felt safe for shipping.
6.) Cool bag it comes in, but feels fake.

Cons: Bag that the Power Supply is in feels fake. Not necessary to lose an egg.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: It does what it's suppose to. Cables were long enough for my large Corsair C70 case.

Cons: Cable wrapping is semi-transparent and ugly looking.

5 out of 5 eggsFull Overview of TX850 v2

Pros: This thing is a beast. Easily powers two 680 Lightnings.

Cons: no case stickers.

Other Thoughts: I did a full overview/review of this power supply on youtube. I hope this can help anyone with making a decision on whether to get this power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsA Power House!

Pros: Arrived on time. Great Packaging from Newegg. Very secure in the sturdy newegg box. Outside packaging was clean. No visible sign of damage. Inside of the box was like being in "new electronics" heaven! Started up on first boot without a hiccup. A+ for quality control on Corsair's end.

Cons: No case stickers :(

Other Thoughts: I bought this to power a second GTX 680 Lightning and it is performing amazingly so far. Only had it a day, but you can just see the quality in this thing. I will update in a few months.

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: I was glad to sacrifice the modularness for the price. It performs very well. The cables are long enough to reach anywhere in the case.

Cons: Not really a con if you have a full tower, but the long cables could junk up the look of the inside of your case.
