2 out of 5 eggsRebate denied, but otherwise works fine

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I've had it for 3 months so far and it works well; my computer powers on every time and everything functions properly, but I can't speak to the long term durability yet.

Cons: Rebate was denied because Corsair said that it was postmarked outside of the rebate timeframe, but that's not accurate unless it somehow took the post office 2 weeks to postmark it. That was a big reason that I bought this brand and being lied to sucks.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed after two months

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Low cost
Fit and connectors were fine

Cons: System worked okay initially, but now the computer is unstable with video distortion, freeze ups, and BSOD. I have used CX430 power supplies in many builds without issues, but quality must be slipping. I had another CX430 (a reman unit) in a different PC fail recently in the same manner, after one day, but Newegg refunded it in an efficient manner. Who has the time to mess around with troubleshooting an erratic power supply!?. I am switching brands to EVGA.

Other Thoughts: No. Spend another $20 and buy something reliable.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The thing about Power Supplies is that you can never be sure about their longevity. Corsair CX is known for being a hit or a miss. But so far so good. It's ideal for my needs since I don't game.

Cons: None as of Jan 26, 2016

Other Thoughts: It's powering;

Core i5 4460
1 x SSD, 2 x 1 TB
8GB RAM
Micro ATX board
3 x 120MM fans

4 out of 5 eggsGood for enthusiasts but not for gamers

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It was good for my needs as i only have a 8 pin GPU as that is all there is.

Cons: No more 8 pins but what do you expect from this price range.

1 out of 5 eggsShady Rebate Practices

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: For my use case, the power supply is working ok.

Cons: Unfortunately, Corsair denied my rebate submission. They are claiming that they did not receive the UPC barcode from my purchase. Out of probably 15-20 rebates that I've ever submitted, this is the first one I've ever had rejected. I know for a fact that the UPC was included and I also went out of the way to DOUBLE TAPE the envelope (with scotch tape AND overlapping duct tape) to ensure that the envelope arrived intact. As a consumer who follows the rules, I'm pretty mad about this. Don't offer a $20 rebate then deny it because you don't want to pay out.

I don't plan on buying another Corsair product, as I can't trust them to do the right thing and upkeep their end of the bargain. If they can't handle a simple rebate subscription, how would they handle a warranty claim?

Other Thoughts: I will update this review when Corsair contacts me in regards to making this right. Until then, I will not be buying another Corsair product. My next PSU will be an EVGA or Antec.

1 out of 5 eggsGARBAGE!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The box that the power supply came in was in excellent shape. The twist ties holding the cables in the aforementioned box were of sufficient length.

Cons: Absolutely, completely not functional. Tested in 3 working builds, and nothing. When plugged in, you can hear a slight clicking sound. It won't even turn a fan.

Other Thoughts: The sad fact of the matter is that this run apparently has a lot of problems. I have seen a lot of negative reviews about the same issue, but took the chance given that I have used and had a lot of luck with other Corsair power supplies. This one left me with a sour taste. My only options were to either pay half of what I had already paid for a return or just suck up the loss. I tried calling Corsair customer support, but all I got was the run around and was transferred to countless people, none of which knowing how to process an RMA or tell me how to go about getting a *full* refund. Shameful!

1 out of 5 eggsDied in 3 months

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looks nice and the price was right

Cons: Died in 3 months of light use. No 12v output

Other Thoughts: Looks aren't everything. Maybe a few dollars more would get something that lasts.
