5 out of 5 eggsA lot of cables, otherwise good

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Works as promised. My PC is getting the power it needs and I have all the cables I need for my components.

Cons: Combined with a MicroATX case, you'll find yourself out of room very quickly. Not a fault of the power supply, but rather my own poor planning.

Other Thoughts: As long as you don't have a MicroATX case, this power supply is perfect.

3 out of 5 eggs3 Months in and signs of dying

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Cheap

Cons: -cheap

Other Thoughts: I guess you get what you pay and now I'm suffering from it. At first it was great , but on 3/21/2015, ordered it on 12/11/2014, it started exhibiting the behavior of an old PSU I had: it would not power the motherboard unless it was completely shut off from the electrical socket then reattached. I thought it would be enough for a phenom ii x2 545 + 750 ti since it was low budget, but I should of known QC on lower end aren't that great and now I'm paying for it.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for a budget system

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Price is more than reasonable with a rebate.
I love the Corsair brand - they have been nothing short of amazing, reliable, and quality performance.
I never worry when I get Corsair parts.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This was purchased to replace the stock Dell PSU for a work computer. This more than handles the Radeon 290 upgrade we added and has added system stability. No more freezing!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little PSU for the Money

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: These are nicely built PSUs with lots of connections and enough cable length for all but the largest cases. I've probably bought 6-8 of these for use in low-cost custom builds, and I've never gotten a bad one or had one fail. They're also quite nice-looking and operate very quietly. If you can pick up one during the frequent sales, these are virtually impossible to beat for the money spent. I've never had trouble with the rebates either.

Cons: The cables are long, so if you're building in a smaller case, you're going to need some room to stuff extra cables. If you're doing a micro-ATX or mini-ITX build in a small case, I'd suggest going with one of the modular versions. One of these will run a system with virtually any cpu, a couple of hard drives and a midrange video card with no issues. If you have a higher-end GPU that has a minimum power requirement, step up to at least a CX500.

Other Thoughts: I love Corsair power supplies. I've had other brands fail on me, but not Corsairs. Yes, the TX and higher end units are more robust, but I cannot stress enough what solid PSUs these are for the money. Compare this unit to anything that comes out of an OEM desktop machine and you will be impressed. Just keep in mind what your budget is and choose appropriately for your build and you won't go wrong with Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsBelow Average Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Price seemed right. Had the number of connectors I wanted for a build project and enough power output.

Cons: Snapped off clip on the main motherboard (24-pin) connector getting it to seat. I put more pressure on the connector to get it to seat than I ever have (and made sure that I braced the motherboard).

In my 20+ years building computers, I have never seen a power supply with a connector fitment problem like this. Other users have commented on that issue here and on the googler. Maybe it's only with certain boards, but I had no problem getting the 24-pin connector of an older power supply to seat with my motherboard.

You could be taking a gamble buying this unit. You could possibly damage your motherboard if you get one of the bad ones.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend to anyone. I would ask for a refund, but now it's broken.

5 out of 5 eggsA Powerful Little PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Reliable: I've owned many of these including the CX500 and CX600, and none have failed
- Runs cool
- Stable power
- Simple, clean design
- Relatively cheap

Cons: - Not modular
- Only one PCI-e connector (but you can always convert a molex)

Other Thoughts: There's really not much to say. This is a nice little PSU that's great for lower-end builds. It runs most mid-range rigs as long as they're not overclocking, and you could even run something like an i5-4690 and a GTX 960 on it, so it's a pretty respectable unit. Never had one fail on me, so I'll continue to buy them most likely.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair CX 430

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Super quiet, I only know it's on because I'm on the internet. Granted I'm using less then half of the wattage.

Cons: Besides trouble overclocking, nothing.

Other Thoughts: I tried overclocking my AMD Kaveri processor and it wouldn't stay stable on even a 100 MHz overclock. I would log on and try to start a stress test but before it could load it would freeze. It's either the PSU or the processor but just wanted to add this.
