1 out of 5 eggsDOA Corsair support bad, Newegg good.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: N/A

Cons: Arrived DOA. Contacted Corsair and Newegg to ask about an RMA. Was not able to find the model on the Corsair support form so I used the Corsair support chat. The person who I chatted with had numerous failings.
-Said I should "try" selecting a model on the web form that was not the one I would be returning, we all know how that would have turned out.
-Incorrectly told me I had to edit my ticket to add the power supply correctly there, when you can not CREATE a ticket without selecting a power supply first.
-Created a a ticket for me then told me to go to a web "tab" on the support site that did not exist. I figured out where to go myself.
-Asked me if I could see my RMA, I opened the ticket that was created and saw that the RMA field was blank and said so. The support person started to explain to me how to navigate to the support ticket page that I was already on. I realized that this person was probably asking if I saw that the ticket was was created and not an RMA and asked if that was what they were asking. The support person said yes, that was what they meant.
-Lastly it is 3 days short of a month and there has been no approval for a RMA from Corsair...

Other Thoughts: On a happy note, I also submit a RMA with Newegg to compare response time vs the manufacturer. They got me a RMA right away and, when the postal service ended up shipping the pack back to ME after the RMA had expired, reissued the RMA number and sent me a ups shipping label. Newegg for the win on this one.

And Corsair, please do not send a canned "We are sorry..." post in response. There are plenty of other decently supported power supply mfgs out there that have never failed me before, and I will gladly pay a little more in the future and go with one of them. Besides, Newegg took care of me this time.

3 out of 5 eggsWatch Out for the Main Connector

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Great efficiency for the price.

It provided enough power for my mITX PC's initial incarnation (with mid-end GPU).

Cons: Delicious power cable spaghetti! It provided more cables than I needed at a little too long a length. Not that big a con, I suppose.

Difficult to get the 24-pin main connector to lock in and snap. Make sure you push down on that sucker hard. Some carelessness in this matter gave me some serious panic at one point.

Other Thoughts: In all, a decent PSU for the price.

Just, watch out for that main connector. If you search for "corsair cx 24-pin," you'll see many others have had similar issues. This might be a design flaw.

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I am using this psu in 3 different builds. 2 are being used to replace oem psu's in factory builds. The 3rd one is being used in a tower I setup to erase hdd,s. I have had no problem with any of them.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: This is an entry level psu and for a general purpose pc. It was never intended to be used in a high end gaming tower. This psu is a super deal when found w/ rebate. There are too many overrated junk psu's on the market that will take down the whole system. When buying a psu check the professional reviews before buying. They will tell you who manufactures a psu and the quality. Spend some time and do research and you will have a system that will function for years vs one that can cause a fire.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat supply for the money!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: For $20 after rebate this is a great power supply. Leads are all sleeved and the quality is very good.

Cons: If I had to be picky I would say it would be nice if there were another SATA power lead. Scrap the floppy power connector and add another SATA.

Other Thoughts: Obviously this is a small power supply but I did the math and it easily handles my i5/ GeForce750TI combo. Only bronze power rated but the $$$ I saved will buy a LOT of power.

3 out of 5 eggsIts okay....

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Looks nice.
- Pretty Corsair Logo on it.
- Can last for a long time unless you overclock.

Cons: - Only 430 Watts.
- Terrible for overclocking, if you try to overclock, good luck, just make sure you bring something to put out the fire if it catches on fire.
- Forced to use Molex connectors for GPU because only one PCI connector, which most cards need 2 of the,
- Kind of loud, so not good if you want a silent build.

Other Thoughts: I'm thinking about refunding this for a 500 Watt EVGA power-supply instead.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat basic PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Looks pretty sharp, has on/off switch in back, has more plugs than I need or will probably ever use (both a pro and a con, I suppose). Using this PSU in a full sized case, and the cables are plenty long enough to reach everything...

Cons: The way my MB is positioned in the case, along with the PSU being on the bottom eliminates the possibility of routing the 8 pin MB power cable behind the MB. Might be an issue with my case though.

Other Thoughts: Review was written after only 1 week's use. Will update if something changes...(knock on wood).

5 out of 5 eggsGood little power supply!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive, comes with a power cable, screws & cable ties. Cables are long enough and wrapped.

Cons: Rebate takes a while - 37 days, but not as bad as the rebate company from Tempe, AZ - rebateaccess.

Other Thoughts: Nice, inexpensive power supply.

5 out of 5 eggsAll I need

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX430 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: VERY inexpensive with rebate (twenty bucks). Seems to be of good quality. Didn't need anything bigger for my system, even if I add a reasonable graphics card later (total draw at full load now only about 100W). Cables have plenty of length to reach everywhere they need to go.

Cons: Not modular, but I knew that going in.

Other Thoughts: I feel much better about using a brand name PSU w/ 3 year warranty than just getting a generic one. My after rebate price was so low, this was an easy choice.
