1 out of 5 eggsWorks great... for a while.

Pros: When it works, it works well!

Cons: This PSU was running my PC just fine for 4 months after purchase. Then, over about a 3 day period, it started supplying less and less power to the system until it finally only put out enough juice to power the mobo LEDs, but not even turn on. I'm not sure if this was a freak occurrence, but judging by the number of other negative reviews for this model, it seems like this PSU is prone to early deaths.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak

Pros: I bought the Cosair Carbide Series 300r/ Cosair Builder Series 500w cx, combo pack.awesome price, very happy with case. PSUis vey nice looking, easy to install, all wires are wrapped nicely, plenty f length for the Atx case, and has the 2 pci onnectors needed for my 7870 gpu. For what it's worthl, I was pleased and excited until I went to enjoy my hardware.

Cons: Not enough power !!!?!! Could be my fault, but. Was lured into ths by new egg comb packs. NO MORE! Such a great casecshould be paired with at least 700w.... Expansion is great, but the PSU can't keep up. Day 1 sucked. Returning this for an 850w.

Other Thoughts: It is quite , well built and I'm sure reliable or a non gaming system. Probably never going with a newegg combo again. Hope his return goes smoothly.

2 out of 5 eggsLow Quality, Good Support

Pros: I had 2 of these blow out on me, but Corsair's support is great. Their RMA turnaround was less than the average in the industry, of a month, and was about 2 weeks after shipping out the PSU, so that was great, and when I told them, concisely, what had happened, they accepted my RMA requests and were very quick about it all.

This is a CWT based platform with updated capacitors, it's a great line for a budget price at under $35.

Cons: It's a lower quality unit, and has no short circuit protection. I had 2 of these blow out within 2 weeks due to a bad LED (2 totally different types of LEDs, different brands). Part bad luck, part bad PSU.

Don't use this PSU if you use lots of peripherals. If you don't use tons of fans and LEDs, it's not an issue since short circuits aren't a huge problem to you.

The fan is also loud, and may rattle if it isn't sitting right, which you will have to adjust by reseating the fan by fiddling with the fan grill (which is the same screws that hold the fan in place). It makes an obnoxious high pitched whine, is the problem.

If you want to cut corners and save money, go for the CX430 instead, and save money. Take solace in Corsair's support, so if it does blow out on you, which it most likely won't as it's a decent quality unit, you'll get a quick replacement.

Other Thoughts: They promised me a CX600 after the 2nd time it blew out but they gave me a CX500 instead, and didn't reply to my email about it. I'm sure they are busy and just forgot, it's not like I'm entitled to a CX600 but it was a bit dissapointing since I actually bought a different graphics card than I would have had I figured I was getting a CX500 replacement.

So I just have this lame duck CX500 here, I guess I'll just sell it for a huge loss and the shipping to sell it, pretty inconvenient.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, no disappointments

Pros: Great power supply and it has not failed me. Lots of people seem to have problems with PSUs even in the good brands but this one works perfectly and Corsair has some amazing deals that make PSUs like this just unbeatable.

Pros: Bought this for essentially $40 ($10 discount and $20 MIR) and for that price it's unbeatable.

Cons: Not modular

5 out of 5 eggsSolid PSU

Pros: Install was easy, no hiccups.
All clips were well formed, holding to the board, cards, drives well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Not a con at all, but most all psu mounted in the Haf XB case will have upside down logos. Due to bottom mounting keeping the fan oriented correctly.
