1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Nice packaging

Cons: Excited to get my new power source. Was trying to replace another source that has some coil whine. Went with Corsair because of the name brand, and the reviews. Got it in quick time, took everything out and replaced it with my new Corsair Power Supply, and nothing worked. I took everything out, checked all my connections, my power bar, made sure everything was right, tried again, nothing. Totally dead power supply, extremely unhappy.

Other Thoughts: This will be the last time I buy on brand name reputation. A little coil whine is preferable to a defunct and useless PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Mid Priced Unit

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's black so the back of my black case no longer has a big silver area. All the cables are covered in protective mesh. You have lots of connectors allowing lots of disk drives. I love the long 24 pin connector as my case is full size with the ps mounted at the bottom. The length allows me to feed the cable behind the motherboard tray and back out near the motherboard power connector for a neat looking install.

Cons: None that stand out. I am a little deaf so I can't really say if it's quiet or not. I guess it's quiet enough for me.

Other Thoughts: Don't forget to send in the rebate form. The info is not in the box but in your Newegg account.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU for the price

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Cost effective and a great brand. I've had this for about a week now and it does everything I would expect a power supply to do. Nice neat cable system as well makes this a great buy. Mine had a $20 mail in rebate but even with out the rebate it would have been my choice. It''s also pretty quite.

Cons: Nothing obvious at this time.

Other Thoughts: I bought this power supply for a budget gaming build. I could have went with a cheaper brand but I've never been disappointed with Corsair. That continues to stand true with this power supply. Just remember to use the tool and get the right size power supply for your setup.

5 out of 5 eggsFor $47 After Taxes, I can't complain

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Cheap ($44.99 with no rebates or anything)
-80+ and Bronze rated
-Corsair (evmatches the rest of the build)

Cons: -Non Modular (Which I already knew, but in a tight case, I'd shell out the extra few $ to get the modular one)
-CX500 is green (Doesn't match the rest of the build.....)

2 out of 5 eggsDead in less than 1 year

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Made good power while it lasted, fan not overly loud. Plenty of connections, and good cable length for a mid tower.

Cons: Started dying within 6 months (random reboots and shutdowns). After 10 months of ownership, sending it back to Corsair. I have to pay the shipping.

Other Thoughts: We'll see how the RMA process goes. I have a Corsair CX430 that is still going strong after several years.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat you want

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I have been buying only Corsair for power in the last 8 years or so. It's nice that it's quiet. No problems. As to 500 watts, who besides the overcolcker/massive video card crowd needs over 200 Watts? Haswells & Sandies are low total pwr- the old days are over!

Cons: Time for a total reworking of the nasty cabling, industry-wide. Once upon a time there were 4-core 90 mm room heaters, now gone, never to be seen again!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Worked flawlessly for almost a year now.
- Quiet enough.
- Braided cables.

Cons: - No actual faults to date.

Other Thoughts: Great PSU, I'd recommend it to anyone needing a 500W PSU. Unfortunately I upgraded my video card so I have to get some more juice.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every cent

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Inexpensive
Quality
80 plus bronze
Great brand name

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is all you need for single GPU builds. I use this power supply for 2 of my builds and it is a great power supply. The fact that it provides quality power to your devices can sometimes circumvent the wattage requirement. In most cases this will provide enough power for video cards that require 600 watt power supplies. As long as your not running 3 mechanical drives in raid or something crazy.
