1 out of 5 eggsBad unit, stay away!!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Pretty Box

Cons: Bad unit from the box, only 30 day warranty. The unit made it 31 before it died!!! I bought this thing because it was a Corsair product.

Other Thoughts: Don't do it, save your money!!!

4 out of 5 eggsHardy product

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Iv had this power supply for slightly over a year in my computer. it works absolutely fantastic, and provides enough cabling for most standard builds, and efficient enough to keep up with modern hardware.
(running an r7850 and fx8350, with 4, 250mm case fans)

Cons: -This power supply can get VERY noisy once things get intensive, and still makes a decent amount when idle. If you want your rig to stay silent, look elsewhere for your power supply unit.

- If you have a full tower, or something larger, you MIGHT want to stay away from this one, or else you might be trying to stretch your cables. which would lead to being near impossible if you have non-stock cooling units. This power supply was definitely made for smaller towers.

3 out of 5 eggs1 of 2 failed within 4 months

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Ample connectors. Corsair product : I have been more than please with all Corsair products I have used in builds for the past several years.

Cons: I have used tons of CX430 Corsair power supplies in alot of small workstation builds and never had any problems. I picked up 2 of these about 4 months ago on sale for the same price as the 430 unit. Had one fail today and start making high pitch sounds. I get it, these things happen. But i had to drive 45 minutes one way to the customers shop to replace and I was a little bummed by that. We will see how the other one holds up.

Other Thoughts: I have to pay shipping on the RMA. Standard with alot of companies but still sucks.
