1 out of 5 eggsDefective PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very cheap power supply. worked for 6 months. Was my first time building a computer and it met all of my requirements.

Cons: Bought this power supply 5/13/2014. My computer would power off after an 1-4 hours. So I ran a couple of test on my PC. When I ran Prime95 and FurMark at the same time my PC crashed instantly. I knew this was a psu issue as soon as it happened because I ran these two test separately before and had no issue.

Other Thoughts: I hope that CORSAIR can help me out with my issue, really disappointing about the life span.

2 out of 5 eggsDead PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Usually a dependable trusted brand. Solid construction. Nice big fan, good air flow. Solid black looks nice and stealthy. Good price.

Cons: Unusable at just over 1 year and difficulty with the product during that year.

Other Thoughts: My computer started freezing on me when playing games and I'd have to restart. I thought it was my video card so I borrowed a friends older card and at first that seemed to help. Then I recently bought a new video card and once again I started getting the occasional crash. After awhile it got worse and worse and would crash more often. Then finally it got to the point where my computer would just completely turn off. I put my older PSU in, from the same company (lower wattage), and haven't had a single crash since. After everything I've been dealing with during that year, I suspect that this PSU was faulty from the beginning.
I will continue to buy this brand and hope that this was just a bit of bad luck for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Runs perfect
- Quiet
- Correct voltages
- Matches my case theme
- It's Corsair

Cons: Not really a con but it's not modular but I knew that when I bought it.

Other Thoughts: This psu is in two builds now and both are running strong. There is plenty of cable to reach even most full tower cases. Also I'm not sure who said that there isn't a 4 pin 12v cpu power connection but that's not true. In fact they are required to have them in EVERY power supply. This one just happens to be an 8pin that you can divide. So don't let that hold ya back

3 out of 5 eggsWorks

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It has plenty of cables to work with, fits my build, decently cheap for whats it's worth

Cons: After one month of use, the power supply started being really, I mean really loud on long time use of computer. Especially when you play games or anything that is cpu heavy

Other Thoughts: I previously had the 500w, much more quiet and fits the needs of my build

4 out of 5 eggsThe PSU that could.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Usable PSU with most/too much of what you need. Excellent price from a great company. Failed none of the testing I personally, or my company does.

Cons: Non-modular :(

Box was green and white, wish there could have been a little blue thrown in.

Other Thoughts: 600w seems odd but after thinking about it, it is the perfect size for the any-man.

I'll never be running dual video cards that require more than an 8-pin each. No CPU I can afford runs above 150w. What is a Tesla? ect... buy it.

This PSU will run a computer and do it well for several years. Buy it if you found this page by imputing specs.

4 out of 5 eggsworks

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Reviews are all over the place, testing seems to say its working within spec. Had it on the test bench for a few weeks and no issues under load

Cons: Other reviewers

Other Thoughts: its a single rail 12v so for sli, or crossfire, go with something a two rail and beefier setup.
Bad power supplies can cause all sorts of weird errors.

3 out of 5 eggsDead After 3 1/2 Years

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked well in my AMD Phenom II x4 and GTX 560 build for a solid 3+ years. Provided all the connectors and power I needed, no problem.

Cons: Purchased 10/21/2011. Died 3/13/2015. I tried to turn it on, and the fans spun for a second. But no boot. It ended up failing the paperclip test. It was never left on for extended periods, and I can't think of any misuses. The warranty was for 3 years, so I guess that's just how it is.

On another note, coil whine while playing games was annoying but never bad or serious enough to warrant replacement. It never occurred outside of demanding graphics applications. Apparently disabling AMD Cool n Quiet would have remedied this, but I didn't want to do that.

Other Thoughts: I've never had a PSU die on me like this one has. And just outside the warranty too. The manufacturer of these builder series PSUs does not make the highest quality, but I expected a little more longetivity. I don't think I would buy from this line of PSUs ever again.

1 out of 5 eggsdead PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: lplenty of cables

Cons: DOA, 24-pin connector won't lock

Other Thoughts: Word of warning: NEVER send in rebate info with UPC BEFORE checking out PSU. I did, no replacement.
