4 out of 5 eggsOkay PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Works well as long as you don't need too much power

Cons: -Uses cheap components and is second to lowest tier of quality.

Other Thoughts: Disregard my last review.

2 out of 5 eggsDied after a month

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Fit well in the case, size power supply I needed

Cons: Died after a month

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a friends build and it ran great for the first month. right after the RMA service ran out. His computer started to randomly go into a deep Sleep mode even though the sleep mode was turned off. Finally got it back on after a few tries and then the power supply up and quits. Currently no way to replace it so he now has a 800$ paper weight. :/

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: cost, rating, continuous wattage, powder coated chassis, cables

Cons: molex plug pins are a little flimsy

Other Thoughts: This is about the 6th one of these I have bought for other people's builds. The warranty is good, and I haven't had to use it on any of them as they all perform well. Corsair makes a good PSU. The one thing I would complain about is the molex plug pins. They are a little flimsy in the fact that when you try to plug them in they push out the other side of the plug. I have had this happen on almost all 6 of the ones I have bought. It's an easy fix as I just push them back through with a pair of needle nose pliers and make sure they lock in place. You would think quality control would catch this, but it doesn't appear to be the case. Other than that these are great PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair Power

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: cost, quality, powder coated black, cables, continuous power

Cons: molex plugs

3 out of 5 eggsAwesome.. When it works

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: [+] Made by Corsair.
[+] Sold by Newegg.
[+] Warranty (Manufacture's)

Cons: [-] RMA
[-] Faulty Unit 5-6 months after purchase.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could've edited my first review but oh well... It was 5 stars but I had "jumped the gun" when reviewing it so soon. My first unit gave up after about 5 months and I went through the RMA process via Corsair. In which Corsair was very friendly, helpful, and easy to work with.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this at all costs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -*Should* work for normal usage that's NOT gaming
-Quiet
-Stays cool

Cons: -Can't output the 600 watts it claims to handle
-NOT for gaming
-Very cheaply made
-TIER 4 PSU - Next to lowest in quality of all PSU's

Other Thoughts: -TIER 4 PSU - AVOID!-

I got this power supply back in 2013. At first it worked great as I built my rig with a cheapo graphics card. After a couple months I decided to upgrade my GPU. As soon as I put in something more powerful I would start getting random power losses/shut downs while playing games and/or watching video. This is a common problem in many of the reviews on here.

After trying out a few different cards, I settled on a GTX 650Ti which I learned is the highest powered GPU this PSU can handle. This definitely CAN NOT handle its advertised 600 watts, or anything close to that for that matter.

So this PSU worked fine on my GTX 650Ti for another year, but just recently I decided to upgrade to a GTX 970 hoping that somehow the problem would be fixed. Nope. Random power losses again when playing games or watching movies.

This is a cheapo PSU that will cause you more frustration than anything. Why get this when you can spend slightly more and get a tier 1 PSU that is not only higher wattage, but will actually last you and allow you to use your computer as it's intended. When building a computer the last thing you want to skimp on is the power supply.

I'm giving this 1 egg because if I'm buying a product, it shouldn't only work sometimes, it should work as advertised and be able to handle the actual wattage that it claims. I'm not even going to bother RMAing this thing. I won't be buying Corsair power supplies ever again.

5 out of 5 eggsStill quiet even after 2 years of heavy uses

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: - Quiet
- Connectors / wires are heavy builded and durable
- Doesn't feel cheap
- Great power for mid/high end gaming

Cons: - Wish the SATA connectors we're a little longer, it's very tight to connect all 3 on a full tower case.

Other Thoughts: I've been taking my PC to some lan party so this PSU has travel a lot. Even though the bump and the shock from the street here in Quebec, it survived and didnt make any noise since I bought it. It's a great fit for mid/high end PC game rig since most of the new gpu need less power consumption. Same for CPU, most of them now are even less than a 100 watts under loads. I've been using this PSU for more than 2 years now and never had to doubt it.

3 out of 5 eggsHad higher expectations

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 600 Watts is plenty for a mid-range gaming PC.
Does exactly what it needs too.
Quiet, not noisy at all.
Mesh covering on cables keeps them tidy and somewhat protected
Connectors can combine and separate as needed.
Flexible, yet resilient. Was able to bend a cable, out of the way of a side mounted fan and not damage the wires inside.

Cons: Failed after a year and a half of use.
Lacked some niche connectors for a side mounted fan. Had to use an adapter.

Other Thoughts: I honestly expected Corsair to have higher quality products and to have this unit last at least 3 years or so, but was very heavily disappointed when it failed only a year and a half in. Will try to get a replacement under warranty, but if my efforts are vain then I'll certainly choose a different manufacturer for future parts.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: When it works it works!

Cons: After 11 months of ownership it is giving off power surges that my ASUS Z77A motherboard is catching and is shutting down the system to protect it. Have to request an RMA. I thought CORSAIR would be a reliable company to purchase products from.
