4 out of 5 eggsIt's a Corsair

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's a Corsair. The quality you'd expect for the price you pay. On sale - $20 mail in rebate - $10 off Newegg discount.

Cons: Runs warmer than expected. Does not have a p4 connection for CPU power.

Other Thoughts: I've owned a few Corsair power supplies over the last few years and this is the first to run warm to the touch at the exhaust. It's only supplying power for my Linux Machine, one SSD, a pair of 4g DDR3 1333 (not over clocked), AMD Triple core (not over clocked) 6770 GPU (not over clocked) and a spare 2.5 500gb data drive & 2 CPU heat sink fans in Push/pull configuration, and 2 case fans.

Not sure if I should return this or just bite the bullet and wait.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: When i bought this it was on sale. I paid 35$ for this, which is an amazing price for a 600 watt great name brand psu. This psu works just how it should, and its 80plus bronze so you know its reliable enough. I hear zero noise coming from my psu at all times no matter what i am doing on my computer.

Cons: No cons so far.

Other Thoughts: Corsair is a great reputable company, and if you have any trouble with your product im sure they'll be glad to replace it. Also, this is enough power for pretty much and single gpu system, so why over watt and spend unnecessary amounts of money? unless you plan on running multiple gpus this is the psu for you. heres my specs just incase you want a reference:
i5 4690k (ran stock, and overclocked fine)
ASUS directcu ii TOP R9 280 (ran stock and overclocked fine)
8gb G.Skill Sniper series DDR3 2133mhz
and i have 1 ssd and 1 hdd. and 3 total fans plugged into my system, including a hyper 212 evo fan just incase anyone is wondering.

Pros: When it worked it was pretty clean fairly high efficiency PSU

Cons: Died first couple weeks of opperation

1 out of 5 eggsSadly, a disappointment.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Worked as intended for the first few days

Cons: This power supply unit is defective. It started to surge which shut down the PC several times. I assumed it would be outside of the environment, i.e. the wall socket, but it seems even with a surge protector it does the same behavior.

Other Thoughts: Sadly, I have lost the UPC which puts me up the creek without a paddle. Thanks Corsair, never buying Corsair again.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: nice unit with good fans and lots of plugs

Cons: this ps has no atx 12v ...4 plug power conector which my motherboad requires. there is a 4 plug that detaches from the 24 plug power plug but manual says don't use it.... it is not a atx 12v. they tied to main cable 2 inches away to make sure it won't reach motherboard.

2 out of 5 eggsHot... Way Too Hot

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Does the job, but...

Cons: Bought several of these for some micro tower servers we built. Installed them, closed the side panels and everything was fine until one day I removed the panel to add more mem and discovered extreme heat inside :\ I thought something was wrong at first, but it turns out these units don't enable their cooling fan until it's almost too hot to touch. Seriously this is about as bad as it gets for hdd's, etc. inside a case. So now I have four of these dogs with no way to use them. Sad..........

Other Thoughts: Need to include a switch to control the fan, OR have the fan come on at a much lower temp.

1 out of 5 eggsDead

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: N/A

Cons: Bought this PSU recently with the MIR deal. After installation my system failed to POST, and I smelled burning from the PSU. Potential CPU and Motherboard damage. In process of sending these components back to Newegg for inspection. I have used Corsair PSU's in the past, but will definitely not be using again. Hopefully my CPU and Motherboard are fine. Do Not Buy.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Affordable - this item drops down to $35-$40 after rebate at least once per month. Perfect for budget builds without sacrificing quality.

Cons: The 24 pin connector was an _extremely_ tight fit on my ASRock Z97 Pro4 motherboard and made what should have been an easy task the most frustrating part of the build. At one point, I was fearing that the amount of pressure I was applying would damage the mobo (even then, it took 10 minutes of pushing, with cloth rags for extra grip and pain relief, to get the last millimeter of the connector clipped in). Skip the test build - pulling out the connector is an order of magnitude more difficult.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Quiet and reliable. The voltages are almost perfect on my unit.

Cons: Not modular.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't use this to build a high end system that requires a lot of power.
