4 out of 5 eggsWorks good

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Good, basic power supply.

Cons: Fan bearing a bit cheap and sleeving could have been much better.

Other Thoughts: Good for the money. Runs an XFX 280x, 860k, multiple HDDs and 5 case fans great.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible, don't get a cx series PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I can't tell, can't even get the 24 pin connector plugged in.

Cons: The CX series apparently is known for having connection issues for the 24 pin connector. I've tried wiggling it, pushing hard, but it just wont click in. Apparent;y I'm not the only one, if you look it up, a lot of others are having the same problem. I'm gonna give it another go and then RMA it if it doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: I've been waiting for 2 years to build a computer, now that I finally got the parts, I can't build it because Corsair messed up the main connector... bullcrap.

3 out of 5 eggsReview Update

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -See Below
-Reviewed product back in 2/3/2014

Cons: -This is mostly a review of Corsair themselves but also the product.
-After owning it for over two years now, the PSU has started whining/buzzing when in any games. It used to only be some loading screens but now it's constant.
-I submitted an RMA through Corsair and it got accepted right away. I called to upgrade to express replacement but had an issue with my card so I would have to call back. Service Rep said there was plenty of the PSUs in stock. Two days later I call back and the service rep says they have none in stock and to call back next week some time to see when they'd get more. I asked about paying the difference for a different PSU but they said they can't do that. It's something they should seriously consider. People can't be without their computers and to simply say "It's out of stock. Can't help ya." seems unacceptable to me.

4 out of 5 eggsBudget-friendly, entry-level PSU!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Single 12 Volt rail w/46 Amp capacity
Doesn't have too many cables
Non-modular
Cheap and effective!

Cons: We purchased 4 units, and 1 had a problem. It would work properly, for a random amount of time (5 minutes to 5+ hours) and then shut-down, acting like it had been over-loaded, engaging a safety lock-out. System ran properly for several days when hooked up to a CX430.

Other Thoughts: These units work very well for moderate loads. They should also be able to comfortably support most entry-level graphics cards. Don't get an expensive system / video card, then try to cheap-out with a sub $30 PSU, unless you plan to replace your expensive components!

With a safety lock-out, you can't start the supply back up without first removing power from for a little while. This is to prevent someone from trying to continuously turn on a supply that has a dead-short, and burning something up in the process. Beware any supply that does not have such a function!

I'm not a fan of modular connectors, especially not the cheap ones! I remember days not so long ago when the sockets in molex plugs would expand over time, making a poor connection eventually, which would make and break just by bumping the case. Why exactly do we want to introduce another potential point of failure on our power distribution system?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular
Silent
Sleek appearance
Sleeved cables
Usually on sale or with a rebate

Cons: None that I've discovered.

Other Thoughts: I've owned and this PSU for just over 5 years in 3 different PC builds.
There's never once been an issue with it and there are far more cable options/extensions on it than I've utilized.
This PSU has also made it through at LEAST 15 power surges/outages where my hard-drive wasn't so lucky in 2 of them.

This is currently powering:
1x Optical Drive
1x Mechanical Hard-drive
3x Case Fans
1x CPU Fan
2x LED Light Strips
1x M5a97 LE R2.0 Motherboard
1x AMD FX-6300 Processor (OC to 4.2GHz)
1x Corsair H80i CPU Cooler
1x Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 (OC to 1080MHz / 1575MHz)

2 out of 5 eggsBudget PSU.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It worked for a bit.

Cons: After 5+ months. This thing is dead. Don't go cheap on PSU save up no matter what and go for quality parts when it comes to powering your PC. I had a 970 + I5 haswell. Thought I could cut corners by not worrying about limit issues because I was under Max Limit.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I've used about 8 of these over the years and never had an issue, everything from bitcoin mining to regular PCs. Good price usually with rebates going

Cons: Wish it was a little heavier duty

5 out of 5 eggsSupplies good power.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The cables are very long and there is an abundance of different types of connectors. It is extremely quiet. It seems well made, no issues after 1 month of use. I got it pretty cheap (35 after rebate). One month after I sent the rebate it in I got a confirmation from Corsair that it is being processed so I'm sure there wont be any issues there.

Cons: It Isn't modular but I knew that before I got it.

Other Thoughts: My system probably only draws 350-400 watts at full load so this supply is a bit overkill but its better to have room to grow in my opinion. I plan to upgrade my GTX650 to a 4gb GTX970 within a year or two.
