3 out of 5 eggscoil whine no me gusta

Pros: Works fine, then again this is my first and only power supply that I have owned

Cons: coil whine shouldn't happen on a 100 dollar psu

Other Thoughts: loudest part on my computer

5 out of 5 eggsReliable.

Pros: Semi modular-ness allows you to select only what you really need, while keeping cables that you most nearly will need all of the time. nice black wrapping to keep things looking good.

Cons: cables are a bit short

Other Thoughts: i don't know if its my case, but my power supply overlaps a part of my case available for a fan mounting point

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair PSU problems

Pros: worked as intended for about 2 months. nothing really "pro" about a psu, it should just power the system, no questions asked. modular/semi-modular is a given nowadays.

Cons: here's my experience with this psu:

-while building my system one of the SATA connectors broke way too easily when trying to plug it in to HDD, rendering it useless. that was fine, there were 3 left and i only need 2 for hard drives and 1 for optical drive.

-then, after about 2 months of normal use and normal gaming, i experienced what i believe was a psu failure while gaming. system just shut down as if the power went out and would not turn back on when power button was pressed.

-i tested the psu with a paper clip and a single fan and it turns out the fan powered up. so maybe the psu isn't dead?

-so i go to install the psu back in my case to see if it will power on now and when i go to plug the SATA cables in, A SECOND ONE BREAKS! and there's really too much cable clutter to plug in the extra SATA connectors and run those to the hard drives.

So now, the psu is completely useless to me whether it works or not because 2 of the 4 SATA connectors are broke and i can't connect them to hard drives.

I probably will still try for a replacement but I'M WARY OF PSU'S COMING FROM CORSAIR NOW, and you should be too!

Other Thoughts: my system:

3 out of 5 eggsDoes its job - short cables though.

Pros: Quality PSU.
Semi-modular, you know that going in, and the cables that aren't modular were all used in my build so it was exactly what I wanted.

Cons: The length of the non-modular cables is ATROCIOUS. Only the 24-pin power cable was able to be routed behind the MoBo for proper cable management. That is huge. I'm buying a modular PSU for a reason - I want a clean case. Keeping the most used cables non-modular is fine, but I still want to be able to properly route them around my case and this PSU does not offer that solution.

Other Thoughts: Quality is huge in a PSU. And from all the research I was able to gather, this is a quality unit at a very reasonable price. But the lack of cable management in a semi-modular PSU is a huge difference since that was a large part of the reason for purchasing this over other units.

Overall, would still buy it again and recommend it over going with a lower quality PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent power clean looks

Pros: -Looks good
-Not the best but does help make cable management easy for simple machines
-Stable & Strong 0 issues in almost 2 years.

Cons: -Could use more cable options/acessories
-Do not buy if youll be running any new big cards in SLi as only comes with 2 6molex connectors had to hagjob and run extentions that look like garbage off another line to power a second card(needed 4 6pin total)

Other Thoughts: Good power supply however if your going to be running anything extreme I would look into something with more cables/options.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value PSU

Pros: -Excellent price!
-Fit my Rosewill Blackhawk ATX Mid-tower case perfectly.
-Quiet fan operation so far (I've had it for 3 weeks now).
-More than enough power for a single graphics card system with full overclocking.

Cons: -8-pin CPU power cable barely reaches its socket at the top of my ASUS motherboard. Part of the problem is the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 is HUGE and the Noctua CPU heatsink is also HUGE.

Other Thoughts: My build:
Rosewill Blackhawk ATX Mid-Tower
Intel Core i5 3570K
Noctua NH-C14
ASUS P8Z77-V PRO
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
Kingston HyperX 120GB SSD
CORSAIR TX650M 650W ATX12V

Modulated cords are perfect. This unit is silent as night, nice strong fan, and takes up little space.
