1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Customer Service

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: None that I can think of

Cons: Is causing computer to randomly shut off, will not fully power off system. Submitted a ticket with Corsair for RMA. After it was submitted they said they would contact me by email in a few hours. It's now been 3 days with no response to my issue. Trying to chat with a rep is a joke as they are always unavailable. This will be my first and last Corsair purchase.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,
I see that your http://corsair.force.com RMA was approved last week. If there's anything else you need please respond to your ticket.
Thank you,
Corsair Customer Support

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: none! It turns on but you can faintly hear it arcing inside! It quiets down during load but with the wire test it clicks....If i install this in to a pc it will burn it up...highly unstable and dangerous!

Cons: DOA!
none! It turns on but you can faintly hear it arcing inside! It quiets down during load but with the wire test it clicks....If i install this in to a pc it will burn it up...highly unstable and dangerous!

Other Thoughts: very upset...wasted good hard earned money on this...broke the warranty seal trying to see if it was the fan so I am stuck with it.... Why cant they sell honest products to hard workers!!!?

3 out of 5 eggsBarely Modular

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It worked fine for a long time. It still works but I just want something more modular.

Cons: I know its not fully modular but I expect modular to be like the CX series with just the main atx and CPU power cable being connected.

5 out of 5 eggsPut 2 in my friends build

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Built two I5-2500K systems for my friends about 16 months ago and put this power supply in both their rigs. So far so issues. Semi Modular design is nice, low clutter.

Cons: oh my gerd the Semi modular PSU I bought is not Fully Modular, I think I'll subtract an egg!

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product but Canadian Rebate does not apply

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Works as per specifications and absolutely no installation or operating issues with this product. Very, very quiet.

Cons: None with the hardware but the Corsair rebate system as advertised on Newegg.ca does not apply in Canada. An egg removed for this.

Other Thoughts: Just received a notification from Corsair that the rebate offer is not valid in my country of residence (Ontario, Canada). It is only $10.00 and not a big deal but Newegg.ca should not be providing a rebate promotion if it is not applicable for any product.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: High quality, low noise [cannot be heard over my video card, CPU and case fans - note: over 48% my video card fan can be heard, beyond 50% it gets much louder (AMD HD 6950)]

I have overclocked my Ivy Bridge to 4.8GHz on air and PSU voltage levels were very stable.

Cons: I have no cons.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this unit in May 2012. I wanted something that would be stable for CPU overclock and long life.

It is listed as semi-modular, so, that cannot be held against it. I used all of the permanent cables and needed some of the modular cables, so, in my case I cannot say this semi-modular design is a con.

My case is a Cooler Master HAF 922 and the large cables are stored between the motherboard back plate and the outer case. This makes for a very clean arrangement where airflow is important.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: great deal for the price. sleek Corsair look and style. cpu cable reaches perfect from bottom mounted psu.

Cons: i had trouble with this psu from the start of my build back in February. the sata connectors are very flimsy and two on the same cable broke from average pressure and bending while connected during the build. some simple crazy glue fixed that.
second, i noticed it said the fan is variable speed or comes on when hot but my fan never turns on! the psu gets extremely hot and during a session of GTA 4 the other day, i smelled a gas/charcoal smell coming from my case. i'm afraid to game with this psu now because under heavy load it might overheat and shut down.

Other Thoughts: i'd rather have a cool psu from Corsair that chirped than to have a hot psu that the fan never came on. this psu has to come out of my case... put in a cool, quiet OCZ modxstream, now i have a hot block of metal laying around...

i'm sure if the fan spun once in a while, the unit would be cool, and i'd be happy, but that isn't the case.

3 out of 5 eggsFair

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nothing yet

Cons: I bought the new Air 540 case from Corsair....wonderful case, problem is the PSU has to be mounter upside down to let the fan blow into the case.... Tried to get a reply from a ticket over 5 days ago..... Still nothing.... So many people are complaining about the lack of support.... I will make it work but I will never buy another Corsair product..... They seem to not care

5 out of 5 eggsReliable.

This review is from: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650M 650W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Semi Modular High Performance Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Semi modular-ness allows you to select only what you really need, while keeping cables that you most nearly will need all of the time. nice black wrapping to keep things looking good.

Cons: cables are a bit short

Other Thoughts: i don't know if its my case, but my power supply overlaps a part of my case available for a fan mounting point
