  • newegg 87.5 Amp Single +12V Rail The HX1050 is ideal for gaming and enthusiast PCs with the latest CPUs and multiple graphics cards, thanks to the dedicated 87.5 Amp single +12V rail, and 6 x PCI-E graphics connectors. The immensely powerful single +12V rail also simplifies installation, as you don’t have to worry about which +12V rail is connected to each component in your PC, as with multi-rails PSUs.
  • newegg Advanced DC-DC Circuit Design The use of advanced DC-to-DC circuitry means that energy losses due to AC-to-DC power conversions are eliminated, increasing energy-efficiency and performance.
  • newegg 80 PLUS GOLD Energy Efficiency The HX1050 power supply delivers up to 90% energy efficiency under real-world load conditions and passes 80 PLUS GOLD certification. This means that less power is wasted as heat, helping to keep the PSU cool and reliable, in addition to reducing electricity consumption and energy bills.
  • newegg Comprehensive Modular Cable System The HX1050 features a comprehensive modular cable set that caters for tall chassis and modern, high performance gaming PCs. The cable set includes 6 x PCI-E power connectors, and 2 x 8-pin EPS12V connectors.
  • newegg Low Noise Design The high energy-efficiency, which results in less electricity wasted as heat, means that the HX1050 requires less cooling than more inefficient PSUs. The ultra-quiet, 140mm double ball-bearing fan automatically adjusts its speed to deliver the proper amount of airflow, so high-performance power delivery is not at the expense of noise.
  • newegg Energy-Efficiency The Corsair HX1050 complies with the ErP directive and has qualified by Intel, which means that the power consumption of a whole system (with an ErP compliant motherboard) in either standby or off mode must be under 1W.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but doesn't last

Pros: Good price, modular, power to spare, worked great out of the box

Cons: Only con is that I came home today and the power supply was fried, system would not start, and now I gotta get a new one and asap since I have work to do. Never had a Thermaltake power supply die on me so I guess it's time to switch back and not bother with Corsair anymore

Other Thoughts: Was great when it worked but is now just a paper weight and my 6 year old Thermaltake still works fine for a temp fix. Expected more than a single year of operation but oh well, learned my lesson

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair!

Pros: -It's Corsair!
-Looks nice with a great finish
-Cool packaging with a neat bag that I use for my tablet now
-Modular (huge plus)
-Extremely quiet and cool
-Perfect for my SLi

Cons: Zip, zero and ziltch.

Other Thoughts: Had the HX 750 and decided to sLi my rig so I bought this one. Both PSU's were modular so I didn't have to gut any wires at all. Just popped em out and in and blammo! Done in ~5 minutes. Just added two more PCIE power cables for the extra GPU.
My buddies and I have all been using Corsair for a VERY long time and they have NEVER failed. I don't mind paying extra for something that works extremely solid and reliable for years! My HX750 still has a job in my backup BF3 computer running nicely. Had the TX 750's in my old computers like 5 years ago and they are still running flawlessly to this day with stable voltages across the board.
If you are browsing for a PSU you can trust, you've found it. Don't cheap out on what could possibly end your PC gaming days.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product

Pros: I've had this PSU for about 2 years now, got it when it first came out and it's still awesome! I can barely hear it, likewise other users have indicated that it squeaks. I have yet to notice anything like that! Works wonderfully, love how it's modular. Comes with lots of cables for expansion. Good overall PSU for the price.

Cons: None, awesome PSU.

4 out of 5 eggsSqeeeeeeeks By

Pros: Delivers the juice and laughs about the 850 watt peak load I use while gaming or encoding. Plenty of room for expansion and the modular cable system is great. Did I mention this PSU is a great value and is high quality and nice and stable even at full rated load.

Cons: Does make a high pitched noise, some users say they can hear it all the time, I only hear it when the side of my case is open. Many users have reported DOA or dead within 3 months, though my unit seems to be great so far.

Other Thoughts: I run a huge system, on an AMD FX platform with ATI cards and loads of drives.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Recommended

Pros: Product is very beautiful to look at and comes with a PSU velvet storage bag.

Cons: Stopped working within 5 seconds of first power cycle.
Fried CPU and most likely Motherboard too on that same first power cycle.
Sent it back (RMA) and will never consider Corsair products again (sorry).

Other Thoughts: I cannot recommend this product based on my experience with quality.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's A Good PSU

Pros: Did not purchase this from Newegg. It's a great power supply, real work horse. I actually only need a 800W, Actual System Draw is 690W according tot he calcs, 600W is the peak i've managed to obtain. I like my PSU's to last forever, so therefore I got this one. It's been working great for the last 2 months...

Cons: The 5V rail after 2 months of use has gone from 5.1-5.2V (first after purchase test) to 5.6-6.1V (for the last week). So now I am in the process of having to RMA it. I'm disappointed that the 5V rail has degraded so much in such little time. I'm most likely going to purchase another one, RMA this one I currently have, and have it as a spare just in case. I really can't go too long without this computer as this is the main computer used for my business and managing my servers remotely. And games...which I don't really get to play hardly ever.

Other Thoughts: It's great. If it isn't 80 Gold, don't but it. Corsair makes some really good products. I've installed a total of 19 Corsair PSU's in the last month for my customers (from 500W to 1100W) and they are all running like champs. It's one of the few products I push to my customers from the same manufacturer. They have decent customer support, even though the technical support sounds like the guy is reading from a screen and doesn't know what "I already did that" means (it's happened to me a couple of times). It's a great product, just remember to test the voltages before you connect it.

5 out of 5 eggsIts almost overkill

Pros: Very slick cable system, pleanty of power.
4x Pcie 6+2 pins.
More sata power than I could ever fit in my case.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Replaced a 700w raidmax peice of junk.. couldnt power 2 6850s without some adapters. Even with adapters it underpowered it.
