  • newegg Customize your look If you're serious about building gaming PCs, your PC's look is important. The color ring accessory pack, available separately, lets you match your GS Series PSU's accent ring color to your system's look, and the fan has red, white and blue LEDs (blue only on the GS600) to bathe the inside of your system in soft light. Running in stealth mode? You can turn off the lighting with a hardware switch that's accessible from outside the case.

  • newegg Quiet Cooling with Fanless Mode at Low load A good gaming power supply must provide the cooling you need when you're pushing it hard, but it should be quiet when you're not. GS Series PSUs accomplish this through excellent efficiency — it generates less heat, so it requires less cooling — and a temperature-controlled 140mm fan that automatically adjusts its speed to meet demand. It doesn't even spin up until it's needed.
  • newegg Reliable No matter what your budget, your PC's power supply shouldn't go before its time. GS Series PSUs are built with carefully selected components to deliver a temperature rating of 40° C, for years of service in punishing environments. The fan uses a double ball bearing design to help ensure that it lasts as long as the internal circuitry.

Pros: does the job

Cons: makes the most annoying buzzing noise when the fan is not spinning or trying to come on. i replaced my first one thinking its defective but the 2nd did exactly the same. the sound got even louder after a week.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggs1 good, 1 not

Pros: It is quiet and probably more power than I need right now.

Cons: I bought one to replace what I thought was a defective older PSU and then found out the motherboard was bad, so I bought a second one and built up a new PC. One confusing thing was it wasn't obvious that I could break apart the 8 pin ATX for my older mobo that uses only 4 pin. 3 months after buying the second PSU my PC rebooted, bluescreened and either froze in Windows or wouldn't even POST. I swapped out the other GS600 which has been off for a month or so and the PC is running fine. Have a RMA request in to Corsair.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective, DO NOT BUY

Pros: Corsair tech support was great in the advanced RMA process and will be getting the HX650 in the mail sometime next week. When tech support called me back after I left a voicemail (only took a few hours) they told me that this is a known problem with this model and they stopped making them however there are already a lot out on the market, which is how I got unlucky and bought one.

Cons: This thing is a piece of junk, the "power saving" technology that turns the fan on at certain loads is garbage. whenever the fan tries to turn on it makes a loud buzzing/screeching sound. Furthermore the fan barely spins at first, spins back and forth extremely slow while making this buzzing noise, than when it finally starts going it stops making the noise, only to stop spinning again 5 seconds later and continue the process over again.

Also, because the issues with the PSU fan not working correctly the PSU gets way to hot while gaming, and about 15-30 minutes in it shuts down the power to my Graphics Card. Had to do a system reboot in order to get my monitor to receive signal from Gfx card because the PSU shut power off to it.

Other Thoughts: System Specs:
Mobo: Asus Sabretooth z77
CPU: i5 3750k ivy bridge
GPU: Geforce GTX 660 ti supercharged 3gb
Ram: 8GB Gskill ripjaw 1866
Cooling: 2x 230mm fans - top, 2x 120 mm fans bottom, 2x 120mm fans side, Water cooled CPU closed loop push/pull 2x 120's on radiator.
PSU: GS600 until I get the HX650 in the mail.

Pros: Looks amazing!

Cons: The back of it isn't flush with the back of my case, not a big deal but still annoying if you have OCD.

1 out of 5 eggsSqueaky Brakes

Pros: Looks Cool and is very quiet when fan is not spinning. Blue leds, which if you have your fan pointing down like most people do, you cant even see the light so really no use for the led lights in my opinion

Cons: When the fan does spin is sounds like squeaking brakes on a car. Very annoying. This seems to be a typical problem for this psu just check some other reviews online, not the 2 that are on here. Which i should have done before ordering.

Other Thoughts: Stay away!!!!!!! Spend another few bucks and go for the hx series . Its very quiet and is modular.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Lots and lots of cord. Almost to many for my needs.
Wasn't DOA

Cons: None to speak of.

Other Thoughts: I have yet to see my Fan spin up aside from start-up. Then again the system its running off of ran off a 300w PSU.
Maybe when I get a 660 Ti I can finally see it spin.

5 out of 5 eggsGS600

Pros: This is a great power supply. I haven't had so much as a hiccup with it. It does what it's supposed to do and is quiet as well.

Cons: Only 2 PCIe connectors, but it IS only a 600 watt PSU. I plan on upgrading to the GS800 soon, and throwing this one in a build for my mom.

Other Thoughts: From the picture (I know it says GS800) this looks like an updated model from what I have. I got antsy and bought mine from a B&M, when I could've gotten a more powerful PSU from newegg for the same price.
