Pros: Love the LED glow, works great with my white 600t and the look of the supply matches my case, mobo and ram. Has all the connections I need to run everything.

This PSU has been supplying power just fine.

Cons: I am really getting annoyed by the fan. I just recently replaced a few fans in my case to quiet it down, then this noise really started to stand out. This PSU has a temperature sensor to determine when the fan should be on. The noise comes from PSU fan not being able to determine if it wants to stay on or off. Have you ever heard a 3D printer? The noise is similar to that. This concerns me on the quality of this product. I am generally a fan of Corsair but am concerned that the fan controller could just go out.

A friend of mine purchased the same exact model and experienced the same issues. He exchanged it for the same model only to have this issue happen again. He just decided to get a different model (AX series)

Other Thoughts: I should have gone with the HX or AX series which are modular. Kinda surprised that the "gaming" series aren't higher rated or modular. I went for the aesthetics when I should have been more focused on quality.

I would RMA the PSU but I am concerned replacement will do the same after a friend had 2 different ones with the same issue. Otherwise can't go too long without my desktop because I use it for college

Pros: Plenty of connections. Enough to power my Crossfire 6870s without using adapters. Long cables and all are sleeved. I really like the different color rings mine came with to match the lights and color pattern of my AMD build (black and red)

Cons: .....THE FAN.....I cannot stress this enough, it sounds like an old ide hard drive. I have my system overclocked and at idle it seems to be on the verge of starting the fan..so all I hear is this infernal buzzing from the fan half way working. I wish they had a switch to just leave it running all the time! at least then it doesn't make a sound.

Other Thoughts: other than the fan issue it is a wonderful psu and works flawlessly.

Pros: Great power supply and nice lighting. Comes with all the connectors you will ever need (albeit not modular).

Cons: Interesting issue with my fan on this one. It only turns on during a high load (understandable) and runs quiet if the fan is on full blast. HOWEVER its almost like this fan can't decide if it wants to stay on or not. It stutters like an awkward kid in high school.

So when I'm playing games, 80% of the time this fan is making a lot of noise due to this "on-off" operation.

Cons: I'v now had 2 of these power supplies one for about 4 months before it started showing issues. RMA'd it got my new one and within 40 minutes the fan stopped working.

Other Thoughts: Very disappointed in the reliability of this PSU while its working its great and I couldn't be happier with it but now I'v gone through 2 in short order that's not ok. will no longer be buying corsair power supplies.

Pros: Assuming the review below me is still the same negative one, ignore it. It may even be a troll review.
The reason I say that is, despite the positive reviews; it almost stopped me from buying it. Even though, I've never had a issue with Corsair power supplies.
Which is sad because this is one of the very best power supplies I have ever owned.
My AMD 7970 works amazing with this thing, as does my whole system, with plenty of power to spare.
The power supply looks great, and the lighting color is perfect and
Their is no bleeding of color from the sides.
Being able to adjust the color settings is a huge plus and really adds to the Nerd Bling effect of a open case.
It's a great combination of style of performance.

Cons: This isn't a con for me because I have great cooling options. However the fan doesn't turn on for this power supply, unless it's being taxed.
However, to be honest this thing does such a great job in my system, I have only seen the fan turn a handful of times.
The good news is this thing has plenty of power and then some for a AMD 7970 (So Nvidia especially won't be a issue since the 7970 is a power hog) but the bad news is, you may get less air flow in your case. If airflow is a problem. As I said, It's not for me.
However a fan turning on only when it needs to seems like it would increase the lifespan of this power supply.

Other Thoughts: I should have probably gone with a larger power supply even though this thing is great!
The reason is future proofing; 1000w would would have been the perfect choice, if I ever wanted to add another 7970.
Certainly not the power supplies fault.

Pros: Solid power supply. Stable. Quiet fan when its running at a decent speed not so much for low loads, I'll explain in cons.

Cons: Not the best for cosmetics. The casing for the power supply is not sealed very well so light leaks out the seams and is not very cosmetically attractive if you have the ability to see inside you're case. There were a couple of other things that really made me upset about the power supply, as stated earlier the fan and the lights. More on the lights: it randomly cycles through the 4 different options, (blue, white, red, clear) my computer is on my desk right next to the monitor and even as I sit here typing this out, its cycling randomly through the 4 selections, quite annoying when i can see it in my peripheral vision. Also very obnoxious when my case lighting situation is blue and green then there is random red or white. Any hows, on to the fan. On low loads the fan is getting power to cool the PSU but not enough to actually spin, only enough to make a fairly loud whine and an occasional twitch. When the fan is actually spinning its rather quiet.

Other Thoughts: I gave it 2 eggs because I found it else where for about $110, and also its cosmetic defects, if that's what you could call them. I didn't give it one egg, and I was very conflicted about giving it 3 because its an amazingly solid PSU, its just I'm not a fan of the noisy fan on low loads or the lighting situation. Also I NEVER review a product this early but these are just some ridiculously obvious issues and I'm shocked at corsair for not catching them, they're such a good company, whats happening to them?

Pros: It is really quiet, but this is because the fan doesn't spin at all times unless when needed. They did this because it is supposed to be a quiet and efficient PSU.

I also love the lighting, you can change it by pressing the light bulb symbol on the back, and since I have a fan that is lights up blue in my PC, I use the blue lighting settings.

Cons: Since the fan doesn't spin at all time, you are not always getting cool air intake for the inside of your PC.

I also wish it was modular so I could have the best cable management, but if you have any ties to put around the cords than that is good enough.

Other Thoughts: A very nice PSU, although just because it says Gaming Series doesn't mean it is the best for gaming. There are other PSUs from Corsair that are better, for a bit of a higher price.

Lighting settings are blue, white, black/none, red, and purple.

Pros: Very stable 12v rail. Nice LED selection switch, blue, red, white, and off. LOTS of power.

Cons: When booting the fan spins really hard for about 5 seconds, then completely stops. I thought I had a bad unit at first but I read online that they are supposed to do that. Never had a power supply where the fan wasnt always spinning. I guess the fan only turns on when it reaches a 20% usage load. To this day I have only seen the fan spin twice lol. Once when I was playing a game, and once when I was running 3D Mark 11. I guess this could be a 'pro' if you are looking for a silent unit. I just think it could be slight fire hazard for some reason.
LEDs don't really match the other case lighting I have. The blue is more of a soft, lighter color blue.. I was hoping for a brighter neon looking blue. ALSO, I found this same power supply at Best Buy for a lot cheaper a few days after I purchased it, kind of disappointing because I always thought I was getting the absolute best deals on Newegg. Oh well, still happy with it.

Other Thoughts: Good unit overall. Love the stability and the Corsair name. My SSD, case, power supply, and RAM all Corsair. Good quality stuff.
