5 out of 5 eggsQuieter than expected

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Enough power to handle my gaming rig.
Fan speed based on load.
Much quieter than my CPU and GPU.
Modular Cords.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The Corsair Link software is pretty neat. Allows you to create your own fan speed profile. Also will create a log of temperatures for you. I imported it into excell and created a line graph with the info. Not really something everyone would do, but I wanted to see how quickly heat accumulated while gaming.

5 out of 5 eggsHigh Price, High Quality

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: 7 year warranty
High efficiency - This has a number of pros, for instance: energy savings and less waste heat generated
Fully modular
High end build quality and component selection

UPDATE: After over 3 years of use I haven't had any issues.

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I bought this in preparation of a future build because there is a rebate AND a 15% off promo going on right now. If you want a *REAL* in-depth review of this PSU google "jonnyguru AX860i."

If the price is putting you off, throw it on a wishlist like I did.

5 out of 5 eggsBest PSU's

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Used a Ax1200 before this one and this PSU feels and looks solid i mean, im happy! i also got custom sleeved cable replacements for looks, and hot diggity dog they look good! Never had a failed Corsair PSU and i have build 100's of systems in my business, the low end and high end , trust corsair on this!

Cons: My Motherboard does not have a 2.0 usb header so i can use corsair link ;-( so check your mobo if you want to use corsair link or sacrifice your 3.0 usb header hehehe

Other Thoughts: Man you know what time it iz! its time to buy this PSU sheeee.....

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Nice software package to examine power usage. Fan alternates speeds (and is mostly off in my system) based on heat issues. Very quiet. Not a flicker of trouble in the last year. Fully modular which is a must.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Maybe pricey, but I would buy again if I were putting together another ATX+ system or building something for gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, Efficient, Awesome Warranty

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Runs very cool and quiet. In most cases, the fan doesn't even need to run (my load is usually < 200 watts). Hitting over 90% efficiency on 120v, 200 watts.

Runs great and long warranty -- I know I won't need to replace this unit for a long time.

Cons: Very expensive. Corsair Link software (needed to monitor efficiency, load, etc) is buggy and quite annoying.

5 out of 5 eggsFINALLY a good PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet...FINALLY a quiet PSU, no whines or buzzes or fans sounding like a jet engine.
Quality all black cables, looks very nice.
Comes with a lot of cables. I had a lot left over since I have a single GPU/single SSD set up.
Looks nice. The black and red body goes nicely with the all black cables.

Cons: Fan revs up high for about 10 seconds when first booting up. Not a big deal for me but could see it being a big deal for others.

Other Thoughts: This replaced my loud buzzy EVGA Supernova 750b. The cables look 10x better and feel 10x better (they can be bent for better cable management a lot easier). It is cool being able to control the fan speed, I have mine set to 40% at all times and still can't hear it at all in my R4.

4 out of 5 eggsVery stable PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Link Software. Very quiet and stable. The included software is very good for monitoring its performance. Modular cabling and so many cables.

Cons: The first died after almost a year. The Replacement is still going though.

Other Thoughts: Bought in Dec of 2012. RMA'd after almost a year. Process was very easy and customer service was very helpful. New one is still running strong.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Quiet, efficient, stable, have never heard its fan come on, even through stress testing.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Haven't used corsair link yet, I won't until I am ready to burn the warranty on all my components to do some real stress testing.
I use the comp for fluid modeling, cad/cam design, rendering fun stuff on blender, extensive interneting, and of course, games! woo!
To be fair, I didn't buy here on the egg, as I had a screaming rebate elsewhere, picked this PSU up for $160.00 or so.

System is as follows:
i7-5820k
Asrock X99X Killer
4x4GB Corsair 2400MHz
EVGA GTX-980 Superclocked
500GB Samsung 850 Evo
Corsair AX 860i, of course
Modest overclocks on CPU, GPU and RAM (5-10%)

Only problematic component in my build, and in the past 10 builds I've done in the past 3 years, has been a junky $20 disk drive.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Beautiful PSU! Believe it or not, but when I changed my system over onto this PSU, I actually saw a small increase in performance from my computer. Benchmarks and what not. Never thought that could happen, but yes it did :)

Cons: It died in about a year. IDK what happened, but I went to power my machine on and it just shut right back down. my system is running on a backup right now, but if you have a defective product, why is it the consumers responsibility to pay for it to be shipped back to you? I mean this is their flagship PSU right? Things like this do happen, but in NO way should I be punished for a defective product. Not happy at the moment.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years and still going

This review is from: CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Modular.
Quiet fan.
Self-test circuit.
Power efficiency is a nice compliment.
Handles an overclocked gtx 760, AMD-Fx 8350 with FSB and HT overclocking on the mobo quite easily.

This power supply has proved to be a long haul one that has lasted to date: 2 years and 1 month since purchase. I am quite pleased.

Cons: None?
