5 out of 5 eggsSolid PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: You can't go wrong with a Corsair PSU. They are my first choice when power supply shopping. If you are building a gaming machine, and desire better air flow, a modular power supply is a huge plus!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace my trusty Corsair 520HX, which has been going strong since 2007. I've used it in every subsequent build since then. Finally decided to upgrade to AX760 when I upgraded my video card. I had no qualms about going with Corsair again - they make a quality product - and I will undoubtedly use the 520HX in another build.

For those less in the know, a modular power supply has removable cables. You can leave out the power connectors you don't need. That's less clutter in the case. To my knowledge, the only difference between "modular" and "full modular" is that with a full modular PSU, you can also remove the main power connectors for the motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsRebate not honored!

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: None

Cons: Received computer parts from newegg and built a new system, then mailed rebate shortly after.
Finally received an email back saying that rebate was invalid. AVOID!

3 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Unsure. Dead on arrival.

Cons: Dead on arrival.

Other Thoughts: This power supply shipped on the 28th. Arrived clinging to life on the 5th. RMA'd it but I think I'm just going to physically go to the store to buy one anyways. The slight savings of purchasing one online do not outweigh the convenience of spending a little more at the store and instantly acquiring one of equal (eh...hopefully better) quality. Waiting 17 days (and counting) to complete a build is becoming painful. I dinged a few stars but only because of my bitterness at this whole experience really. I've heard good things about this power supply, but have yet to experience any of that myself.

5 out of 5 eggsgood PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: -modular design allows for better air flow in my system
-can't even hear it when it's in silent mode.
- Corsair has always had high quality products and I've used them for years

Cons: - when the fan does run it seems to be rather loud almost like a grinding noise for a few minutes. Might be a mechanical issue or just new parts wearing in, I'll keep an eye on it and update this as needed.

-Manual sucks unless you enjoy looking at graph charts

Other Thoughts: If your new to modular PSU then take time to read the PSU itself as well as the ends of the cables to ensure you plug them in correctly. One side of the cable will say PSU only and that's the one that plugs directly into the PSU.

Use the power cord that comes with the PSU, don't recycle one from a previous PSU

Corsair has been my go to company for all my PC builds. My other rig has a corsair HX1000 PSU and has been working non stop almost 24/7 for 7years now and has had zero problems.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid power and cable management

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: According to my systems sensors, it puts out the power advertised. Cables are nicely sheathed. They are a little stiff, but that reduces the cables ties you will need to use. Quiet.

Cons: Be sure to double check the cables and PSU labeling brackets when you plug them into the PSU.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a 1kw PSU I had for several years that quit supplying juice to the HDDs.

4 out of 5 eggsTwo months in, no issues

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: -Great power supply, completely modular

Cons: -First one fried my HDD, RMAd them both and have not had any problems since
-A bit pricey, EVGA has some similar PSUs for about 20% less
-760W may not be enough for people trying to CrossFire/SLI

Other Thoughts: I bought this power supply because I have other Corsair products which I like and I was willing to pay a little bit extra for them. I would give it a perfect score but the first one I got fried my HDD and caused a lot of headache. Other than that I have had no issues and would recommend the product.

4 out of 5 eggsSeemingly DOA

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Got it at a good price during last year's black friday sales.

Cons: Had some reoccurring/erratic power ons/shut downs on the pc I put it in, couldn't get the system to boot 99% of the time.

Other Thoughts: RMAed, let's see how it goes.

UPDATE 12/18/15:
I forgot to update this review earlier; Since RMA, the new PSU has worked flawlessly and I have changed my rating as a result.
