2 out of 5 eggsBuzzing sound

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: It's normally a good product.

Cons: This psu has recently after only a few months of ownership began to make a buzzing sound. It's loud and should not be happening with a supposedly high quality part! Very disappointing.

4 out of 5 eggsA solid power supply

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: good power supply, easy to install, cables long enough for the bottom mounted power supply cases, LED light is not overpowering.

Cons: Not a fan of the pig tail method of adding additional power connections. I prefer a more flush mount which give a more finished look.

Other Thoughts: Still, a solid powersupply at a reasonable price.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Power Supply Until it Stopped Working

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: Fully modular, all black cables look nice in the case, cables have good length and come with extras

Cons: Cables didn't fully connect to components and would pop off. Intermittent power issues where the psu would not respond to the power switch on the case. Tried the corsair recommended paper clip test, it was deemed RMA-able. The RMA process took 21 days from start to finish, user is responsible for paying the shipping costs.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent Under Load

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: This PSU is every bit the equal of other Seasonic Platinum PSU's I've used on the past. QUIET! Even under load, and I mean quiet while encoding video on a 12 core Xeon 2697, which should absolutely push this PSU's silent threshold.

Cons: I prefer a sata power cable with two ports and another with four, variety... this only comes with four port cables, which means i have extra cable sitting in my case.

Other Thoughts: I can't comment on how quiet this is scientifically, other review sites can do that, but I can say I use this with a Rosewill Legacy U3, a GTX 960 Asus Strix, and Noctua NH-U12S (cooling a Xeon 2697), and this PSU is no more audible than these other purposely quiet/silent parts.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Power supply!

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: So far so good!

Price: $99.99 (USD) after rebate. Pretty hard to beat that.

Noise level: Its SO quiet. I don't personally own a meter for checking the DB specifically, but I cant hear it at in my case.

Heat: It's platinum efficiency which directly correlates to less heat waste! Not to mention power savings over the years!

Its fuller modular: As someone coming from semi/non modular PSU's, it was a breath of fresh air in terms of cable management.

They supply you with a plethora of cables with varying numbers of connectors on them to match your needs.

Cons: Nothing so far!
If anything ever changes I'll be sure to come back.

Other Thoughts: I see people complaining about it being dead out of the box. I did note for some odd reason that the power cable I was using for my last PSU wouldn't work with this.
As soon as I plugged in the one shipped with it, it worked just fine.

I'm inclined to think it was a PEBCAK error, but I didn't really feel the need to investigate to figure out exactly what happened.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 32 days

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: For the 32 days that it was operable, the power supply was nice. The packaging is great and it feels very heavy and reliable out of the box. I like the modular design. Unfortunately high reliability is not the case. I would recommend spending the extra money and purchasing the AX760i instead as it has digital power modulation and is of a higher build quality.

Cons: It failed in 32 days, and it was long enough that I had recycled the box so newegg would not accept a refund. Outside of it completely dying after a month, it seemed like a nice power supply.

Other Thoughts: Sucks that it died so soon and that I threw away the packaging expecting a 130 dollar, platinum ranked PSU to last. I figured it would be an upgrade to my PC Power and Cooling Silencer 610 that had worked for 4 years without an issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU - Fully Modular

This review is from: CORSAIR AX series AX760 760W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified Haswell Ready

Pros: I've had to be wary of the whole "fully modular" thing. Sometimes I've seen PSUs brag about being fully modular...but really...they still have the mobo power fully attached.

This is fully fully really really modular. I like. There were no cords attached to the PSU at unboxing.

A pretty cool jet black velcro bag comes with the PSU that contains on the cables. A nice thing to have, and has quickly become a storage unit for other cords.

Plug types define themselves in white writing on the plug itself. If you don't see it, check the other end of the cord :)

Cons: Watch where you plug things into. Plugs of same size but for different purposes can cause issues. Read the labels on the PSU that separate, and use the appropriate plug types.

Other Thoughts: All cords are black, or are wrapped in black mesh. All connectors are black.
