GS series gaming power supply units offer efficient and reliable power delivery without comprising value and style. They are 80 PLUS Bronze certified with up to 85% energy efficiency under real-world load condition. Carefully selected components offer a temperature rating of 40° C for premium reliability. Color adjustable LED fan can switch between red, blue, white, and off settings by pressing the button on the back (600W model – blue or off mode only). The color accessory pack (available separately) allows you to swap out the blue accent ring to match your PC’s color scheme.

  • newegg Customize your look Your desire to customize your power supply can be satisfied now. The color ring accessory pack, available separately, lets you match your GS Series PSU's accent color to your system's look, and the fan has red, white and blue LEDs (blue only on the GS600) to bathe the inside of your system in soft light. Running in stealth mode? You can turn off the lighting with a hardware switch that's accessible from outside the case.
  • newegg Quiet Operation A good gaming power supply must provide the cooling you need when you're pushing it hard, but it should be quiet when you're not. GS Series PSUs accomplish this through excellent efficiency — it generates less heat, so it requires less cooling — and a temperature-controlled 140mm fan that automatically adjusts its speed to meet demand. It doesn't even spin up until it's needed.
  • newegg Reliable No matter what your budget, your PC's power supply shouldn't go before its time. GS Series PSUs are built with carefully selected components to deliver a temperature rating of 40° C, for years of service in punishing environments. The fan uses a double ball bearing design to help ensure that it lasts as long as the internal circuitry.
  • newegg Compatible GS Series PSUs are build-friendly, with enough connectors to power just about any gaming rig you can imagine, and extra-long cables for full-tower case support and creative cable routing. It fits any ATX PC case, and works with ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX, and E-ATX, and all other ATX-compatible motherboards.

3 out of 5 eggsFan Noise Issues

Pros: Very good power supply with plenty of connectors for all of your possible add-ons. Cabling is wrapped in black woven cable management, so it keeps your interior space tidy and managed. Power output seems to be very good so far (I've been running it since November 2012), and the switchable LEDs are a nice touch. Doesn't run too hot, in my setup at least, but I do have pretty well manages airflow as well.

Cons: The fan noise. I purchased this power supply as it was one of the few I could locally after the one I had had for the previous five years finally went belly up. Don't get me wrong, it seems like a great power supply, but the fan speed is regulated automatically within the power supply with no to adjust it (that doesn't void the warranty). When it is cool, the fan doesn't run at all. When it gets pretty hot, the fan runs very quietly. Most of the time, however, it sits in the limbo phase where the fan is constantly starting up and shutting down, and emitting a loud buzzing noise the entire time. It is quite loud, to the point of bothering me even when I have headphones on. Reading other forums, this appears to be a known issue. I attempted to contact Corsair tech support, but their response was to replace it with another same model unit, which leaves me with the same problem I already have. No suggestions were at all. I feel that their tech support was very non-responsive on this issue, and again from reading other forums, this seems to be all you get. I don't recommend this model at the moment. I would even be happy with a way to just disable the fan so I could force more airflow manually if need be.

Other Thoughts: Good power supply hampered by terrible buzzing noises and lack of user control.

4 out of 5 eggsA Great Buy

Pros: A Great power supply that provides enough power to run my GTX 560 without hassle. The LEDs are a nice touch. Overall I'd recommend this power supply if you want to give your PC that "look at me" feel. It definitely provides enough wattage for high-end needs.

Cons: Sometimes runs hot depending on ventilation, LEDs may add to tempreature increase

Other Thoughts: It took a while to "break it in" per se as it was originally running a little hot. Things seem to have stablilzied though with the addition of an 80mm fan in my case and it now runs cool to luke warm when idle and warm when under load. The LEDs are great but I think they sometimes add to the heat production, of course that may just be my case, as it's only a mid-size. Overall I'd recommend this power supply if you want to give your PC that "look at me" feel. However, it's tempreature regulation may take some maneuvering.

1 out of 5 eggsFan is noisy at no speed!

Pros: Lots of connectors i guess

Cons: When the fan slows down to accomodate low load it humms louder than when the fan runs high speed!? Something wrong with the lowest setting for the speed controller I imagine. Kind of spendy.

Other Thoughts: Fix the fan and you still have a spendy power supply.. the switchable light is kinda cool though.
