4 out of 5 eggsSolid Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: -Affordable
-Modular
-80 plus bronze
-Quiet

Cons: -My unit had an odd bend in the casing, like it was dropped.

Other Thoughts: I've used dozens of these power supplies and they have all served me well. Like I said, the unit has a odd bend in the corner like it was damaged on the assembly line. From what I've seen it doesn't affect performance in anyway, which is good.

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable and works

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Modular makes it easy for cable management. Cables are long enough.

Cons: Rebate originally said missing UPC, but calling Corsair rectify that problem.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I highly recommend this PSU. Probably best price around for 80 PLUS BRONZE from a known company. I understand that some people might not, due to tier list found on reviews. But for a budget-moderate build, I say go for it.

2 out of 5 eggsIncludes a fake rebate.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Corsair is a decent brand occasionally, but I'm annoyed that they are resorting old school tricks like rebates.

Cons: Did I mention the fake rebate?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Affordable Modular PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Modular Design, Plenty of Power Connections, Great Construction

Cons: Does not have SATA and Molex power on a single cable. If you require both Molex and SATA power, you'll need to attach two cables.

Other Thoughts: This unit, overall, is great for the price. Works very well, does not whine like some of the cheaper PSUs, and contains plenty of power connections. The only thing I wish is that they included a cable that has both SATA and Molex power.

5 out of 5 eggsA Fine Modular Power Supply!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: It runs quietly while supplying plenty of juice for my gaming rig. It mounts easily to the case and comes with plenty of cables for most setups. The cables for the 4-Pin, 3+1-Pin and 24-Pin are plenty long for cable management.

Cons: I have no issues with this power supply so far. The power cables for the SATA devices could stand to be slightly longer if you mount it to the bottom of a case, but it's not crippling on a Mid-tower or smaller.

Other Thoughts: It is a well-build power supply and I recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsAnother great power supply from Corsair!

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: Modular, and my first experience with such, was very happy with it
500 watts was more than what I needed for my build
I have never been able to hear the fan in this PSU over the quiet hum of any of the other fans in the case

Cons: I cannot think of any cons. I got exactly what I wanted.

Other Thoughts: Build at the bottom.
Got this lovely PSU because the last time I built a computer about 5 years ago, I had a TX750 that is still going strong and even silent. I was very happy with the purchase, and once I researched the PSU topic in general, decided that modular was the way to go, and Corsair is a fantastic brand.
So it's got one fixed cable, the motherboard power, one plug for the CPU power cord, and three for whatever else you may need. I actually only needed one SATA cable for my two SSDs, but have tried every slot and combination I could, with satisfactory results.
I've been quite impressed by this unit, when stress testing my whole build it still remained only slightly warm, and completely silent. I'm gonna try to get CXM units for the builds I do in the future, unless they require that much less power, or that much MORE. Already recommended the CXM series to a couple friends building computers.

5 out of 5 eggsFantasic 500W for small/budget gaming builts

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: This PSU came in at a great price and offers exactly what you need for a small gaming PC. Physically this unit is pretty small so it fits in smaller cases. The CPU and Motherboard power connectors are not modular, but everything else is, which makes cable management nice. The modular cables are also flat so it's easy to run along the back of the case or between items. The fan is relatively silent and I have not had any coil whine from this unit. All and all it's perfect for a budget gamer. (see specs below)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used in below system:
Fractal Design Core1100 case
Intel Core i3-4170
GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-B85M-Gaming 3 motherboard
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
SAMSUNG 850 EVO 250GB
MSI GeForce GTX 960 OC 2GB

5 out of 5 eggsSemi-modular design is nice

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC CP-9020059-NA Power Supply

Pros: It's not so bad having the main mobo power cables permanently attached since you definitely will be using them.
Supports mounting in either orientation (fan up or down)
Great price with rebate

Cons: None
