1 out of 5 eggsNon reliable, cheaply made PSU.

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified

Pros: It was aggressively priced when I purchased it.

Cons: From how often it seems to break, it seems to be made of low quality parts, as well as poorly manufactured. It seems to break after a few weeks to a few months of normal use. In one of my RMA's I did not even receive all the cables the PSU was supposed to have.

I've had to replace this unit through RMAs and returns 3 times, and Corsair will not provide any particular support or upgrade of the unit other than a typical RMA and a "Sorry for the inconvenience".

I spent about a quarter time of ownership replacing the product and boxing and returning them. This PSU may work for a few weeks, but likely will fail within 1-3 months. This is completely unacceptable.

AVOID BUYING. This is a low quality, poorly made PSU, and if you like having a reliable, working PSU do not purchase this particular model.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective... disappointed with Corsair

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified

Pros: Looks great, is modular, fairly quiet fan.

Cons: Amazingly loud coil whine after about three weeks in. And I'm talking loud. I now worry that it may eventually fail, so off for a refund it goes. I won't even attempt an exchange on this one. I should have known better than to spend this little to power high quality components. I've used Corsair for the past three computer builds, but I might go with a different brand this time around, which is really a shame. I've almost exclusively sought out Corsair for RAM, cooling, and power for years now. My last 650watt PSU from Corsair was a beast for well over five years. To have this one act bonkers within a month is sad. I hope I just got one that bypassed quality control. Oh well. I'll give them 2 eggs for the benefit of the doubt.

1 out of 5 eggsDestroyed my motherboard

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified

Pros: Haha nope

Cons: So where do I start? Thee fact that it completely destroyed my motherboard (possibly CPU) is enough for me to say stay far far away from this PSU.

I bought this to replace my 630w PSU because of my new graphics card (previous PSU worked perfectly btw). I'm regretting every second of that decision. Now I have to ship back the PSU, get a new graphics card, CPU, motherboard (which will end up costing at least $1,000.00.

Do not buy this unless someone is pointing a gun to your head (even then you should think about it).

Other Thoughts: Hopefully corsair can make good on the damage it has caused. I can't work until I get my hardware replaced. I have been building computers for 6 years, never had this happen before.

1 out of 5 eggslooked promising

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified

Pros: its a good price, and a good company

Cons: turns off randomly under [moderate] load. idle is fine, but these shutdowns that other people were having are happening to me as well. sucks now i need to spend $20 to return the thing. I'd read more that CX models are cheaply made and this problem is not all too uncommon. Dont get burned by this bad buy.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS

This review is from: CORSAIR CX series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply New 4th Gen CPU Certified

Pros: Decent price

Cons: Where to begin. The coil whine even right out the box was insane, anytime I played Dragon age: Inquisition it was so bad it gave me a headache. Then the random shutoffs started to happen. It was like my power cord was being randomly pulled out. ON A BRAND NEW RIG.

I contacted Corsair, who offered to RMA my unit, but I wasn't going to give them another chance. I politely asked for a refund, which they refused despite me only owning the unit a month.

Other Thoughts: I love my Carbide 500R case, but I will never do business again with them on a PSU. Sad day when they will not stand behind their product.
