5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for my needs

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM450 450W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Very quiet at low loads (no noise until ~150W); reliable function; 5 year warranty; high efficiency; reasonably priced; fully modular; good looking for a PSU

Cons: Fan doesn't kick in often, but it's definitely noticeable when it does; modular cables too long and too stiff for optimal ITX use (although, what is? Maybe Silverstone Strider with short cable kit?)

Other Thoughts: Fan seems to kick in at around 150-200W after some use in a small ITX box. My computer's peak load is at ~150W (i5 3450, 750 Ti, 16GB memory, 256GB SSD+1TB 2.5" HDD, B75 chipset), so that means it only kicks in during an intense gaming session. Also, for that guy who says he can't get a replacement due to warranty running out--this thing came out last year. Warranty is 5 years. I don't think you've got this thing for five years.

Also, make sure this thing gets good ventilation. Running it passively most of the times means it's going to be cooking itself with higher-than-optimal temperature compared to your normal PSUs due to, you know, fan not running. Putting fan vents pointing to the top might not be a bad idea.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth/Fully Modular

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM450 450W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This power supply has many good features

Features
Active PFC
Fully Modular
80 PLUS GOLD Certified

I love the way the fan is nice and quite.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Reason why i went for 450w

I have this power supply running in a single GPU tower.
Specs:

Tower:: NZXT Full Tower
CPU:: i7 2600k
GPU:: GTX 660 TI Super Clock 3GB
RAM:: G-Skill Rip-Jaw's X 16GB (8-8-8-24)
SSD:: SAMSUNG 840 Pro 128GB (Run's Window's)
HDD:: Seagate 1TB - 7200RPM - 64MB (2x) {Raid 1}
Motherboard:: ASUS Z68

Reason why 450W and not 450W++

Tested with (P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Load Meter and Monitor)
Watts Per/H

Max:: 330W-360W (BurnLn Test) **NOT RECOMMENDED**
Gaming:: 290W-320W (GTA-5/Crysis-2-3/etc...)
Normal:: USE 200w-250w (Word/youtube/Movies/etc...)
Idle:: 120W-140W (AFK)

Conclusion:
Power Supply's are are most efficient from 20%+ loads...
450W's fits perfect for this build. Any other build will need a different power supply to maximize efficiency.

* Burn testing PC's should only be tested by people who know what they are doing.

3 out of 5 eggsDissapointed

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM450 450W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The Powersupply works and is quite

Cons: Not Corsair's typical quality. I use all Corsair products when I can, and I do not think this device is up to Corsairs build quality. Cables and to be forced into the ports on the Powersupply and on the mother board. They do not fit well a all.

Other Thoughts: I love corsair products. I know the RM series is not Corsairs top of the line system, but I did expect the same build quality from corsair. I just expected that there would be less features.

2 out of 5 eggsGood Reliability, Quiet, Relatively Poor Life Span

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM450 450W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This Unit is easily reliable, the wattage is enough to power the few things I needed most and then some. It stays quiet even after ~20 hours uptime.

Cons: The short life span is what knocks the eggs. I've had the unit for a little more than a month, and already it shorted out in a big burst. This happened After the Warranty expired, so no free replacements here :c

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Reliability, Rather short Life Span

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM450 450W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: It's modular, which adds in plenty of options for compatibility. I've not found much use aside from the norm.

Cons: Shortly after the month I've had it, darn then went ahead and shorted out. Not sure why, I wasn't even close to using the 450 wattage it was able to provide.

Pros: Connections for wide variety of power need.

NOT hard-wired.

Cons: Limited instructions, however this is JUST a PSU.
