1 out of 5 eggsPop in the Dark

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Was silent, gave steady power. Only had one problem with it. RMA was easy.

Cons: Well, how do I put this? It blew up. I was playing GTA V and suddenly i hear s POP followed by a black screen. I had checked my temperatures/power output minutes before and everything was cool and no voltage drops or surges. I just sent it back, hopefully it didn't take my whole system with it.

My advice: DO NOT BUY THIS PSU. Get an EVGA G2 if you are gaming, even though it is $40 more. Money well spent so you don't end up like me. The stingy man spends the most I suppose.

Other Thoughts: Please don't buy this product, it is perfect at first then quits at the worst time.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent, most of the time

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Neat, Sweet, Discreet..Just the cables I want to use, the rest are in the parts bin= very clean looking build.

Cons: The cable ends I got seemed dodgy, the clips that lock the cable ends were just slightly wrong; I had to fiddle with them alot before I was happy with them and used a lot of cable-ties to get everything to stay put.

Other Thoughts: Despite the cons i wrote about I would buy this again. I love the way it idles down to almost no power consumption and then instantly "spools-up" when needed.truly AWESOME.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this unit in all it's power supply-y goodness

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I resisted the temptation to go overkill on upgrading my existing PSU---a semi-modular OCZ Mod Xtreme Pro 650---and could not be happier. It's Corsair. It's fully modular. It's 80+ Gold. What's not to love?

Plus, it was on sale, had a rebate and I used the MasterPass 15% one-time mobile app discount ... grand total was under $65.

Cons: It's very quiet. Wait. That's a plus. :-)

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Have not heard the fan come on since I have had this unit installed. Not one single issue with this power supply.

Cons: Not a con persay, but it should be noted that the modular connections require some force and fiddling to effectively seat them in this unit. It claimed a bloody cuticle in the battle to get it installed xD

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, stable power

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: At idle, and during light gaming using a GTX 970, the fan remains off, and so completely silent. During heavy GPU utilization, the fan spins very slowly and quietly. There is no coil whine, or indeed any noticeable noise during operation. Being fully modular, it's easy to install and tie down each power cable individually. It makes for a very clean look.

Cons: None. I wanted a quiet PSU and it was even quieter than I expected.

Other Thoughts: It takes a little bit of strength to get the plugs to seat properly in the PSU, but this is comparable to other high end power supplies I've purchased (Firepower Silencer Mk III)

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The GREAT flat cables made it wonderful for my cable management., and, is completely silent at all times.
Overcurrent protection is WONDERFUL, and its surprising how many power supplies don't have quality overcurrent protection, or don't have it at all. (I wish I didn't know this....)

Cons: I am actually a little scared about the cables on the power supply falling out. I could not for the life of me get the cables actually fully clipped into the modular interface. It is actually really annoying, but I would still suggest this power supply.

Other Thoughts: Great power supply, and works with Bitfenix Prodigy.
System:
i5 4690k
r9 280x
Kingston 2x4 BLU
z97n-gaming 5 mITX (Which BTW, works as a hackintosh)
h105
RM650
Kingston 120gb SSD
Bitfenix Prodigy

4 out of 5 eggsMost turstworthy GOLD psu you'll find for this price

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: -Silent-mode fan

-80+ GOLD rating

-Fully-modular interface

-Corsair LINK

Cons: -Need a separate module for LINK functionality

-Yellow isn't everyone's Forte

-Cables don't snap into place like you'd think

Other Thoughts: Most people probably don't wanna have to go out and get more stuff just to monitor their PSU wattage, but if you're okay with that then Corsair LINK is a great PSU monitoring program. Also the cables don't secure themselves when you plug them in, so be careful you don't pull them out by accident and double check that they're all the way in.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor fitment on connectors/plugs

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Super quiet
Long cables
Modular design means you only use what you need (no rats nest of unused cables to tie away or try and hide)

Cons: plug connectors were extremely tight and had poor fitment

Other Thoughts: It works, it's dead quiet, but the plugs had poor fitment. I installed this with an Asus Z97 Pro motherboard, and could barely get the cables fully seated in their sockets on the motherboard/PSU. I have been building PCs for a very long time and never had connectors that fit so poorly. Every ATX connector was a bear, including where the cables themselves connect to the PSU. The SATA power cables were fine though. Wondering if it was possibly the motherboard, I pulled a few spare PSUs out of my storage closet and they all fit beautifully with the Asus board, so I'm forced to point the finger at this PSU. Too much force to make me feel comfortable, so I'm buying a backup power supply in case this one fails in the future. 3/5 because it's on, running, and working, but I would absolutely dread having to take it apart again. Can't recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat unit

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM650 650W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Quiet and functional. Corsair PSUs are the best, hands down.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Corsair Modular power supplies are the only power supplies I would use.

I put a filter underneath the intake because I like to keep everything clean but other than that this unit is excellent.
