5 out of 5 eggsCorsair RM vs. TX

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The RM series has taken the place of the TX series I'm told by Corsair recently. TX is now EOL or end of life.

Cons: None....Great power supply and a great warranty/company to back them up.

Other Thoughts: I noticed the RM vs. HX PSU's don't weight as much. The HX PSU's are very heavy which tells me better quality inside.

5 out of 5 eggsCompletely Silent

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This has been a great power supply. My current build is all about silence. I spent over $100 on fans to make sure it is completely quiet and its like its never there. The only time i hear it is when i am gaming and since i have a headset on i don't hear it anyways! I have never heard the fan turn on but i am sure if i used the fan tracking software i would see it. The modular cables are great, flat cables all black works perfect with my build. All the cables were long enough to get routed behind my case in the cable management holes.

Cons: Its big. I was looking to downgrade to a mini atx build but this will not fit any smaller cases. It is 18cm whereas most small cases only support 16cm. I can't dock it eggs but make sure this fits your case. In addition its annoying that it doesn't easily make it available to use their fan software. I honestly don't know if the fans have ever turned on, the only way is if i shell out like $40 more to get an adapter.

Other Thoughts: Always had enough power, great for my gtx 770 graphics card that is a 450 watt card.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Gold Rated , modular

Cons: The Power Supply only had two 6+2-Pin PCI-Express Connectors. I need four (4). Neither the Newegg nor the manufacturer's website had ANY "what comes in the box" information as far as cabling goes. Because it was advertised as such a high end item, I incorrectly assumed that it was Crossfire/SLI ready and with cabling. Very Disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair let down

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Decent PSU while it lasted...Modular is always a big plus.

Cons: Complete power failure after less then a year, the tower was used for basic gaming, never ran all day, no SLI.

I also want to mention I use a Furman/Panamax Power Conditioner that regulates all incoming power to a 118-122 voltage range (120 volt).

Replaced the PSU with another 750watt PSU from a local store.

Other Thoughts: I thought I was protecting my self by buying a little stronger and "Gold" rated PSU, it was definitively not worth the upgrade in the end.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear NZXT ME,

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience. To get a replacement, please contact us directly at 888-222-4346 or you may submit a ticket at corsair.force.com and we will be happy to assist you.

5 out of 5 eggsCorsair steps up to the plate..

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: this unit was sent to me as an rma replacement for my nearly two year old tx750 which i was finally able to diagnose as the sound that has bothered me for a long time- coil whine!

Cons: ......

Other Thoughts: have to say that corsair treated me right.. contacted them with what i had done to figure out where that 'tone' sound came from.. they asked for my invoice from newegg and issued an rma the same day... received this rm750 and kind of thought that they had sent me something less than i had bought...no way! they sent me a more expensive, fully modular, and rated 80% gold psu than i had sent in for the rma...i am impressed!

4 out of 5 eggsRM750 great PSU

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Really quite
Very efficient
Easy cable management

Cons: Fan only spins when your system is running more than 40% of its power on 25°C, or 77°F (Room temp)
So this PSU will get hot when you are not pushing enough power wattage to that limit

Other Thoughts: **Important for buyers**
You BETTER RMA your unit if first 4 digits of your power supply serial number starts less than 1341
So basically corsair has recalled the defected unit and they been replaced them with newer model

Read the forum article. Corsair also confirmed this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bought this PSU on sale late 2013 and it has been running like a champ. The fan has yet to turn on (at least I've never heard it), which is what its supposed to do, even under load. Looks great with my Gold/Black theme PC. I now have enough power to SLI if I choose. The PSU can also be flipped (fan up or down) both positions show a right-side-up RM-750 logo. If your looking for a f100% quite, 100% modular PSU with great customer service than this is what you should buy.

Cons: None at all!

Other Thoughts: My build:

CPU-i7-4770k
Mobo- Asus Z87 Pro
RAM: Corsair Vengance Pro 8gb 1600
GPU- EVGA GTX 780 FTW ACX
PSU- Corsair RM750
Case- NZXT Phantom 530

1 out of 5 eggsfollowup to poor product

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Product is failing and I submitted an online RMA request over this past weekend. You can' t submit an express request over weekends for some reason.
I indicated I wanted to be contacted to expedite the RMA to express. The RMA procedure states they will be contacted within two business day, well that came and went without corsair calling or responding in any form. So I called and had the RMA changed to express and was told the product was in stock .
An email followed stating the power supply had shipped via UPS. UPS tracking indicates the tracking number was generated but they had not received the item. I called corsair today about these issues and guess what their systems are down so an update is not available. Bottom line Corsair does not read or respond to customer request. I suspect Corsair is like most companies who think they can blame the shipping companies for delays when in fact the product was never received by the carrier. It was interesting while on hold with corsair to hear their five values, one being customer support. It is time that Corsair updates there phone hold message,
update their phone hold messages.

Other Thoughts: Buy someone else's products.

1 out of 5 eggsOver Heats

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM750 750W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: none

Cons: PC will not power on at times unless I toggle the power switch and re-seat the plug in the power supply. When I can boot the pc at random time shuts down. Not OS related, no blue screen. RMA submitted today at Corsair.
This silent fan thing isn't working as advertised.

Other Thoughts: If the fan is suppose to turn on at 40% heat load it isn't working. Not up to Corsair standards.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi henryn46,

We're deeply sorry to hear that you received a bad unit. To check your RMA status, you may contact us at 888-222-4346 and we'll be happy to update you on your RMA.
