4 out of 5 eggsSecond times a charm

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: 1.Fully modular
2.Corsair link compatible
3. Silent and cool
4.More than enough power for my future 780ti sli

Cons: The first unit I received was DOA. Went though Corsair diagnosis using the paperclip method and got nothing. Had to pay for RMA shipping back to Newegg but received a new unit in full working order.

Now, on to the cables. They are black insulated and molded together so flexibility is not their strong suit. This makes cable management a pain. Also neither this PSU nor my H100i came with the Corsair link cable the piggyback the two. So now I am looking for a solution that doesn't take both my USB motherboard headers.

Other Thoughts: This is a solid PSU with plenty of power and only falters in the cable department.

5 out of 5 eggsRM1000 power supply

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular <3 So awesome! Really great wattage - works great for my dual graphics cards. I also really like the adapter for a case fan - the motherboard in my computer only has four spots for fans, but I have 5 including the CPU fan. So the adapter was great!

Cons: Why can't I hold all these cords?

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Power -Plenty of power and cables for anything you need to do.
Size- Fits in a normal space without too many problems because of the full modular and flat cabling.
Quite- Hardly ever turns the fan on and when it does it's unnoticeable.
Looks- The main unit looks good and has a nice finish with the rounded corners.

Cons: The flat cables are a little hard to bend at first but once you get them in place they don't move much which for me that's nice.

The connectors to plug the modular cables into the power supplies don't fully seat that easy, so I would recommend to plug them in prior to installation.

Other Thoughts: If you don't feel like sleeving your power supply cables and still want the flatter cleaner look I would definitely recommend this power supply.

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: This thing is beefy. It handles everything I throw at it without any problems. Quiet too.

Cons: It gets hot under full load.

1 out of 5 eggsSerious QC problem

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: I did like the cable design and the fully modular feature. The dimensions are ideal for almost any build.

Cons: The plugs are a very hard seat. Almost get the feeling something is going to snap before the plug clicks in place. Mine was DOA. After owning other unimpressive Corsair products I decided to get a refund and go with another manufacturer.

Other Thoughts: Corsair when they pretty much just made memory were practically the industry standard. It seems that since they have branched out even that is lacking. I would not recommend this product.

3 out of 5 eggsCORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W-DEAD AFTER 3 MONTHS

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Bought this GOLD certified PSU with some spare power to be ready when adding on my new graphics card. Installed fine, lots of cables and of good quality.

Cons: Unit was running fine for 3 months and came home one day to see nothing running. Standard troubleshooting including swapping out the RM 1000 with a Corsair HX 750 PSU and things powered up again.

Other Thoughts: Would expect a PSU to run for more than 3 months. Wondering if Corsair experienced some faulty production components -- speculating that happened due to the numerous Corsair PSUs I see stating they just stopped working after weeks or months or DOA.

5 out of 5 eggsBloody Finger

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Comes with a decent Quality sticker.
Packaging was good, UPS 2 days after purchase was a surprise.

Enough Cables for every need.
Super High Quality Power Cable 4 the Wall.!
(sick of cables bending/cutting) Ty Corsair.

No noise what so ever.

Cons: Molex 4 pin cables could be ..
slightly longer and more spaced out.

The Sata power connectors could be slightly longer/more spread out too.

Connecting the wires to the PSU itself is very hard, and it doesn't seem like the cables like to stay in place. They don't slide out, but you will notice @ any bend, and it will Tilt/wiggle, and basically you will lose your power.

The cables that you would really want to be short, like the motherboard cable & the CPU 4Pin & the PCI-E cables , are just Extremely Long . You could put the PSU in the Bottom of 1 of those Super ATX cases * tallest case * and still have plenty reach.

Also I noticed that inside the box, behind the fan, there was a lot of white melted stuff. A little too much it looked like.

Then When I looked @ the 2 3pin fan connectors. 1 Looked good, and 1 looked slightly tilted. * I was expecting them both to be Inserted/plugged in all the way *
<Haven't noticed any issues yet>

Other Thoughts: Beware of the Sharp Packaging ! Out of all the items I have ever bought, I have never Cut my finger so bad on cardboard packaging... <--- I was so excited I hurt myself.

Somewhat New to PSU's of this year.
was not aware that you could toss the default's, and purchase better Quality cabling.

For any of you who are looking to buy this item, I recommend waiting for a sale, and using a little of the cash + extra to get better Cables. The Wall cable itself is excellent though.

3 out of 5 eggsSeemingly average PSU intil...

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: The reason I felt the need to purchase a new PSU was because I was experiencing some power shortages, and surges. I ruled out my MOBO so I decided it was my PSU. I received the PSU in about 2 days, which is always great. BUT this PSU lasted only for a day. The next I turned on my desktop my computer did not start. It seems the fan blew out(a beeping sound would be heard coming from the PSU in my attempts to boot up).

Cons: Well, it did arrive partly dead. I sent a RMA for a replacement and newegg approved of it I'll continue to edit this review as soon as i receive my replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Great stable psu so far.

Cons: I rated 4 because the cables are not sleeved and the ends are really sharp. My fingers hurt after plugging it all in.

Other Thoughts: I thought I needed a new psu to power my new graphics card but it turned out that wasn't the case. Anyway I am still glad I got this because it leaves ample room for future upgrades!

5 out of 5 eggsBeast of a psu

This review is from: CORSAIR RM Series RM1000 1000W ATX12V v2.31 and EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: More power then I will probably ever use. I power a Z87-4770K, GTX 780, and this thing laughs at it. I plan to add another video card in the near future but I don't think it will challenge this beast. It runs quiet and is surprisingly small for its output. It fits perfectly in my mid tower.

Cons: Non yet
