Pros: When it worked, it did fairly well. Occasionally had trouble recognizing some drives.

Cons: 1 week out of warranty it failed! Too bad, could have been a 5 egger.

3 out of 5 eggswindows cannot spin down drives connected by USB

Pros: 1st one DOA.
2nd one in service for 4mos, works as advertised
silent, low profile, no issues

Cons: i would not have bought this item if i had known that these drives (which are used for once-daily backup only) would be spinning 24/7. so now i am looking for a unit that connects by firewire or eSATA.
just keep this in mind when looking for external drives/enclosures.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with dual 3GB drives

Pros: Does indeed work with my new 3GB Hitachi drives

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: As an update to my earlier review, I tested the dual dock with 2 brand new Hitachi 3GB drives. The dock can handle this size, no problem, despite what the specs say.

I am currently getting a sustained 80 MB/ sec going between 2 docks (not between 2 disks in the same dock).

Looking good!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Fast, reliable, low cost. Holds the drives securely in place.

Cons: As with any dock with no fan, the disks can get hot. This has not posed a problem in extended use.

Other Thoughts: I've owned the single drive version for a long time. I then bough a Cavalry dual drive dock that flaked out after 3 months. The BYTECC holds the drives securely, as opposed to the Cavalry.

I am wondering why the specs say it will work with drives only to 2 TB. I see a previous reviewer says he used his with a 3TB drive. Does anyone else have experience with this?

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for me

Pros: No issues at all so far. I would guess that some of the problems others have mentioned could be attributed to their motehrboard capabilities. Transfers very well. I have both the single dock and this one, both BYTECC and for the money, there is no way to beat this. The Sharkoon has a dual power button, which may be the only thing this is missing but that feature is definitely not an essential one. I have used BOTH SATA II and SATA III drives in this and it seems to like both equally. Obviously, the SATA III transfer speeds were higher, in fact, about 70% higher than what I get from the SATA II drives I have used. The lone SATA III used was the Hitachi 3TB. I have a couple of Samsung 2TB drives which I have also used. The difference in their speed is also likely accountable by the Samsung's slower 5400rpm and 32MB cache compared to Hitachi's 7200rpm and 64MB cache. At any rate, the dock has been excellent so far.

Cons: Don't see any problems in connecting the drive as others have stated. Waited over a month before writing this just to make sure. Dock was recognized immedialtely by Windows 7 and is very friendly with my ASUS P6X58D-Premium board. LED is nice. Might be considered bright if you use it in a dark room and have it placed in front of your monitor. Otherwise, the blue & red LEDs are no issue here.

Other Thoughts: Best bang for the buck. Up to half the cost of other dual USB 3.0 docks. Runs quiet enough. Drives get a bit warm but that also depends on your drive. Can't fire up any huevos rancheros on it and it won't keep you warm during cold days. If I have any problems later, I'll let you know.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent dual dock box

Pros: Im using this connected to a 3.0 pci-1 express card.I also have a single 3.0 dock connected to the same 3.0 card. This dual dock works flawlessly for me and the transfer speeds are as expected up to 5 gbs a second. When turning it on with both hard drives inserted they are loaded quickly and seen by my o.s. which is xp.This dock has no problem reading or writing and accessing both drives at he the same time.I use six docks all around my home. This is my 1st double dock and its been performing well for 12 hours a day for a week now without a glich.I highly recommend it.

Cons: NONE,some people say the l.e.d.s are bright,,that is totaly false. They do wrap around the dock but they are not bright or intrusive and you can still see the hard drive activity. It actually looks kind of cool. And there is nothing wrong with the design of this box as one person has indicated.

Other Thoughts: If you only have 2 usb 3.0 ports you can add 4 hard drives to the 2 ports using 2 of these docks. But be aware if you acess all the drives at the same time your transfer speed will be split up amongst the four drives.I thought esata was going to be my lifesaver but usb 3.0 is a much more solid and stable performer as is this particular dual dock...;)~

1 out of 5 eggsDubious at best

Pros: It didn't explode in my face and injure any family members

Cons: Too light for a doorstop and didn't do much else

Other Thoughts: Looks like Newegg is gonna leave me swingin' in the breeze on this due to missing the RMA request deadline by 2 days :-(
