Why It's Worth Every Single Penny
- Pros: My search for an enclosure that would adequately cool a hard drive and at the same time look aesthetically impressive is over. I ordered 2 of these units and 1 came with a rainbow led intake fan and the other has a standard black fan. I suppose if you are lucky, you'll receive the unit with the led fan. Works flawlessly with my 250gb Samsung drive. Nice clean flush design with wire mesh. Installation was a breeze.
- Cons: It would be a plus if the package contained a stand mount. I wish both units contained the LED fans.
- Other Thoughts: The fan dimensions are 8 cm X 8 cm X 1.5 cm. The fans blow air into the bottom of the hard drive. These enclosures sell fast so act quickly.
Excellent Product
- Pros: Great enclosure! Drive carriage inside all metal, no plastic. Its a little smaller than appears in pix, but thats good. Nice fine brushed alum finish that cant be seen in pix, looks much better in hand and sooo cool. A little boxy but no annoying stand base to worry about. Best feature is the standard 80mm case fan, which can be replaced indefinately if necessary, unlike other enclosures with unique and odd sized fans. Mine came with a blue led fan, also has small but bright blue led at the front. Easy install, fast run speed. The HD mounts in it upside down and backwards compared to other enclosures, just different. Plus this makes the ribbon and power wires 3 times longer than other drives which is good, and the fan blows on bottom of hard drive for cooling. Very happy with it, will buy at least 1 or 2 more soon. Will try the black model.
- Cons: On/off switch could be a little crisper, and the back plate is flat stamped steel, if it was formed a little better like the front plate, this thing would be almost perfect. But I still am very satisfied.
