Pros: It is convenient to swap out hard drives quickly.
Cons: When using eSata, you have to turn on the unit before you turn on the computer. Also, the transfer speeds even with eSata are much slower than typical external usb drives.
Other Thoughts: It would be the perfect solution for my needs if it had the flexibility of USB and at least comparable speeds to usb 2.0 external drive units.

Pros: This is a good choice for anyone who wants to externalize their SATA hard drive(s) -- perfect for easy drive/partition cloning. Includes both USB (acceptable performance) or eSATA (best performance) port(s). The retail package I received included 2 eSATA interconnect cables (your milage may vary) ....
Cons: The included eSATA cables are are only held in place by careful routing (strain relieving) and a little faith -- these are NOT the more expensive locking variety. The SATA drives are held in place by gravity ('weight' of the drives).
Other Thoughts: I like the separate power buttons, one for each drive -- and I notice that docked drives automatically spin down when I shut down my computer -- I suppose due to some 'intelligence' inside the dock. I'm overall pleased with this unit (except for the imperfect machine tolerances, typical of manufacturing these days), and feel that this will serve my purposes well.

It is good, until it failed

Pros: It works as advertised, very convienient to have dual drives available. The power switch is a nice addition since it lets you turn individual drives on and off
Cons: After a month and a half of use the unit drive 1 got stuck in the on position. No matter what I do the unit will not turn off. So I am going to RMA it. Lets hope the second unit isn't a lemon like this one.
Other Thoughts: I hope the unit lasted longer than it did. If it did the unit would be a 5 star product.
