5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought this in 2006, and still use it today. Everything on my PC has been upgraded several times however this PSU just keeps on and keeps on running, quite amazing really. Looks cool, fan controller still works, shiny lights?

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: My PC runs at least 12 hours a day for 9 years, that's about. 40,000 hours I've got out of this PSU already and still running strong..

5 out of 5 eggs10+ years of service

Pros: I've had this product in my rig for over 10 years, and it still works! Everything else has been swapped out and upgraded many times over - but this guy keeps on going!

Cons: 10 years on, this guy is really loud.

Other Thoughts: I am finally retiring this little guy in favor of something more quiet and energy efficient. But I don't have a single negative thing to say about this product!

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: NONE

Cons: Installed and plugged into Mobo. Would not even light up the back on/off switch. Put the old power supply back in and it worked. These power supplies are not burned in, probably not even plugged in after mfg. Beware of power supplies that are not burned in.

Other Thoughts: Paid over $20 in shipping costs for nothing. Still don't have a power supply. I would be very hesitate to accept a replacement as it may arrive DOA and just add to the shipping costs you will rack up. Can't believe NewEgg still sells these.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat..

Pros: runs well until it quits on you

Cons: Poor quality

Other Thoughts: After buying two other power supplies that eventually died on me, I bought this as my third PSU for my computer on January 21, 2014, hoping that i will not have to buy another one ever again. However, it has just died on me today, November 15, 2014. Even the $15 500W PSU i bought before this PSU lasted longer than this one.
When you get the package, youll know it is poor quality when the box is cheaply made in china, with uncountable typos. Observing the PSU itself, all the plastic parts are died green, but again, are bad quality.

1 out of 5 eggsBad batch(?)

Pros: None.

Cons: Two in a row, DOA.

Other Thoughts: My buddy needs a new computer so we decided on this PSU. First one, DOA. Sent back to Newegg and they confirmed. Second one, same thing. We have not sent it back yet but I think we will be exchanging for something else.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Good

Pros: Actually I'm unable to let you know anything about this product as it came in non-working condition.

Cons: Everything.! Product obviously has not been tested before delivery as i wont even accept power.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

4 out of 5 eggsStill Going Strong

Pros: I bought this in 2009 for my first ever build.

* Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHz Dual-Core
* Corsair XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2-800
* ASRock P45XE LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
* APPHIRE 100265HDMI Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR3

I've had 3 hard drives running on this at one time and a DVD burner. I've upgraded the video card to a EVGA GeForce 600Ti and I've added another couple 2Gb ram sticks. This thing just never had any problem with anything I've thrown at it. I've even done some overclocking with no impacts. The cords make since and I've never had any trouble with cord management. I like the ability to adjust the fan speed and the lights are nice.

Now that I'm looking for a new rig I'm hesitant to get a new one as 520W is plenty for my needs. I'm thinking that I can still use this for my next set of components.

Cons: For the first year I had it if I powered down I wasn't able to power back up without turning the switch off a bit. I have no idea how I fixed it but it works fine now. I have no idea if it was the motherboard or the power supply.

The fan at full speed is loud.

Other Thoughts: Even though I mentioned the loud fan as a con this didn't matter to me because the intel CPU fan and the 3 other case fans were loud too. It's just a very loud build. You get used to it.
