Every advancement in computer technology -- every new graphics card, sound card or CPU, means a greater need for power. Developed for high-end SLI gaming systems, the Apevia (Aspire) ATX-AS680W-BL 680W Power Supply delivers 680 Watts, which is more than enough for all the power-hungry pieces in your case. An Active PFC design increases efficiency and reduces power consumption.

Its look is enhanced by the LED illumination and blue cable sleeving which, by cleaning up cable mess, improves airflow and ventilation. Cooling is provided by one 120mm UV blue LED fan and two 80mm UV blue fans, ensuring that the power supply stays cool in the hottest action. It offers Universal Input, which along with ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V compliance ensures that you can use it in a variety of situations and almost everywhere, without worrying about input voltages.

It's designed to keep you playing for a long time, with a MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) of 100,000+ hours. Its industrial grade components provide stable and steady output, and protection against power and voltage surges. The power supply sports two +12V rails (12V1, 12V2), which allow support for the most high-end of PC systems. It has one Main connector (20 + 4 pin), 1 x 12V (P4) (4/8 pin), eight peripherals, two PCI-E, two Floppy, and four SATA connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsWhats the Problem?

Pros: Works Great
Priced Just Right
Decent Watts
Looks Good in Case
Nice Fan Lights (if you are into that)

Cons: You Found Some?

Other Thoughts: I am on my second build using this same power supply and there are no problems what so ever. The first one has been going strong for almost two years with zero problems. This newest build, powered up with no problems. If you are considering this power supply, stop thinking about it and pull the trigger. You will be satisfied with your purchase.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 years

Pros: Affordable way to power your computer

Cons: Would occasionally shut down during gaming, then died completely after 2 years.

Other Thoughts: Don't try to save money for an expensive graphics card by getting a cheap power supply. You will not be happy with the end results.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Bought 4/17/2006 and still running my computer right now as I write this 4/10/2016 . I would think 10 years I would have blown it up by now but its still running strong. I started using it when I was still running win xp , and then win 7 upgrade came along. and now I have win 10 and will be using this same power supply in my new comp that I will build this year.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I am wondering if it will go another 10 years. If it blows our within the next 5 years , I will add the date of death to this review.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked but did not measure up to the specs posted. Thus getting a 1 egg for false claims.

Pros: Looks pretty. Fan control functioned.

Cons: - Did not power my PC. Even though my build required less power than this was said to give.
- Did not powwer my GPU.

Other Thoughts: Sent in my RMA the day after i received the product. So hopefully my refund comes quick and easy.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome item

Pros: Apevia PSU have served me well. They have lasted me even with some of the odd things ive done. Any failure that ive had from their PSU has been on my side.

Cons: n/a

Other Thoughts: Would like a modular one, but that was my mistake getting a non modular one.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU!

Pros: Good airflow, pretty nice aesthetics (the blue lighting looks great!), and overall reliable. Although Apevia isn't a recommended brand by the build a PC community, this has lasted quite well and I don't experience any irregularities or dips in power.

Cons: none!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat price, look, and functionality.

Pros: My first computer build and it was a snap to install. It works great led works great and the fan control speed works, haven't had any problems with it. so far i love it and it goes strong. directions are easy to read and with the rebate i got on it it was pretty much a steal. highly recommend to anyone needing more wattage for a good graphics card.

Cons: So far the only con i have with it is the fan makes a funny noise for about 30 mins. it only stops after 30 mins if running at full speed.

Other Thoughts: it fits a micro ATX mini tower, but just barely with some wire management, zip ties, and HDD maneuvering.

1 out of 5 eggsIn the end; not worth it.

Pros: -8x molex, 4x sata, 2x floppy connectors.
-Looks and feels good.

Cons: -Died after 14 months of occasional gaming using a graphics card that only required 20amps max on a single 12v rail.
-Not 80+ certified.
-Not single 12v rail.
-Not modular
-Wasted amps on 3.3v and 5v rails to increase total wattage so novice buyers will buy it thinking any 600watt psu will work when it's the amps that matter.

Other Thoughts: It looks great, it's heavy and feels like quality but in the end it wasn't worth it considering I got a much better corsair psu for a few dollars more that is 80+ gold certified, single 12v rail, modular and more 12v amperage with less overall wattage then the apevia. I would not recommend this after reading the reviews here and mine quitting after just 14 months of light gaming and the system being off roughly 70% of the time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Gets the job done. Has a fan speed control knob. Nice cables.

Cons: Fan is generally loud.
Fan began making a whining sound after about 4 years. I used to give it a slap or two to make it stop until I added a shim between the fan and the grating and the sound stopped permanently.
