An important tip from one of our users: don't just check total power output, find out what you need in the way of current on each power rail. If you need 20 A on your +12V rails and the supply only has 15A, it doesn't matter how many watts the supply puts out: don't buy it. Make certain that you have ENOUGH rails, too: sometimes, you need more than just two +12V rails for your setup.

Replacing an existing power supply is easier: just get a replacement that meets or exceeds the specifications of the old one. (You can usually find those printed on the side of the supply.)

That said, here's a power supply that is compatible with most ATX format motherboards, puts out 680 watts of power (see specifications for exact distribution). Could this be your next power supply?

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Workmanship / QC

Pros: Like the power cbl sleeving. Cuts down on the cbl clutter within the PC casing. Had a previous Apevia Iceberg style and liked it.

Cons: Today, I saw a screw laying within the PSU casing. W/O a doubt, this is taboo within any computer system and indicates poor workmanship and quality control, to say the least. Had that screw been lodged someplace else it may have caused SERIOUS damage to all of the components attached to it. BIG BUCKS to repair.

1 out of 5 eggsPSU Delivered Broken

Pros: Looks cool but didn't work upon recieving.

Cons: Didn't power up; fresh from the box and no damage during delivery, the PSU didn't even power on, went throught Customer Support and they helped a lot, but will not recieve replacement for another 3 days. I ordered it 10 days ago.

Other Thoughts: Maybe consider another PSU, brand matters, not just reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsfantastic PSU

Pros: This PSU is amazing. All the connectors I need, fan speed control, and to top it all off it looks amazing ha. The lights look really cool especially if you have a side panel window. I haven't had it long enough to attest to it's reliability, but it has all the signs of a quality PSU and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Cons: Absolutely none so far. I am quite happy with the unit after almost 1 month of use.

Other Thoughts: Don't wait, but this power supply and you won't regret it!

5 out of 5 eggsNiffy

Pros: The reactive cables makes my computer look like it has a water cooling system. Very noticeable and eye catching.

Cons: The only thing is the fact that the color changes back to blue everytime my computer turns on, but can be switched quickly with the button on the back.

5 out of 5 eggsLooks Great

Pros: Got this as a stylish PSU since i have a completely clear case. they look great together. The neon green wire covers also look good.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: not a big fan of changing the fan speed since it also changes how bright the fans are, but that's not a real big problem.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Upon Arrival

Pros: Mainly got it because it was stylish in the sense of led fans and a clear case. Also the wires looked pretty cool with the neon green

Cons: Dead on Arrival wont even power on,and the labels on the back are upside down.

Other Thoughts: I bought this product about a month ago when I was building my pc.I hadnt bought all the parts yet so I kept the fan in the packaging until today.I plugged it into the wall and tested it.No lights or sounds came from the device.Adjusting the fan speed did nothing.Very disappointing outcome

4 out of 5 eggsHappy with the product overall

Pros: It looks cool, I have an all green light set up and this is a nice touch.
Havent had any power issues running a 7870 graphics card an 8120 cpu and a 970 motherboard and knock on wood its still working 7 months later.

Cons: The led wont stay on the color you choose. you have to reset it each time which is why -1 egg. It really is a pain to reach back every time you turn on the comp.

3 out of 5 eggsUPDATE

Pros: It worked, and has a lot of connectors. The fan controller is nice.

Cons: I have owned this PSU for more than a year now, and it died on me this week. The baring in the fan became loose about a month or two before the PSU died. The fans are also very loud, and were loud before a baring went.

Other Thoughts: This is a great beginners PSU, but not at all for an enthusiast. I do regret buying this for the green sleeving and awful LEDs.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT!

Pros: This PSU is great, i love it i have owned it for over a year now and it has worked great. i love th push pull fan set up and the fan controller on the back of it. it allows you to quickly turn the fans up if you are doing any hard gaming or computer work of any kind. i also love the 3 way color switch. I have multi color fans in my computer and depending what mood i am in i can adjust them accordingly. Also this PSU has a good weight to it. a good way to judge how quality a PSU is, is by how heavy it is. the heavier the better. this guy weighs a little more than 6 lbs

Cons: one con, though not a very big one is this PSU is not a modular, so make sure you have room to store the cords. also when i turn the fans up all the way there is a little ticking noise. but you can not hear it once you start playing games, watching movies or listening to music.

Other Thoughts: when i bought this PSU the 680 watt was low, not enough to SLI two GTX 480 together. but with the newer GPU's (600-700) series you can SLI 680-780 with this guy.
