1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 3 hours

Pros: None that I can see, because it worked for 3 hours.

Cons: It worked for 3 hours, I got everything installed and then I stepped away to get something to eat and when I came back the monitor was off. I thought it just fell asleep but it wouldn't wake up. I tried turning it on again, but nothing. after a few attempt, the PSU turned on but just the blue light and the PSU fan. It couldn't even run the system fans. To make sure it was the PSU I tried it in my wife's computer that (currently works) but it didn't turn on.

Other Thoughts: Try it because it's a good price, but don't be surprised if it craps out on you.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

5 out of 5 eggsApevia 650W

Pros: Great power supply, I have had this for almost 2 years and not a single problem.... and it glows! All the connections you could ever want and the wires are covered. Got it on sale and couldn't be happier.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Runs quiet.
LED look cool.
Because of the open back and the open area for the fan on the bottom I can blow the dust out of it easy.

Cons: Zero.

Other Thoughts: I have owned this power supply since 2010 and it's still running great. Never even had a worry thus far.

3 out of 5 eggsThis PSU worked for 2 years then fried my SSD and 1TB HDD

Pros: Worked without a problem for 2 years

Cons: I turned my machine on the other day and started to smell electrical burning.
I opened my case and it was smoking from my Seagate 240GB SSD which was twice the price of this PSU.
I thought it was an issue with my SSD but i then tried to plug the sata cable into my standard 1TB HDD and it started smoking as well.
Moral of the story is this PSU ruined over $350 worth of equipment. Luckily my SSD is still under warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsSLI

Pros: Fan and LED looks cool
Works great as a paper weight.

Cons: Fried the day after I upgraded to 2-way SLI in a brand new build, even with decent wattage overhead.

Other Thoughts: For the approx $193 I paid for a discount PSU that burned out in less than a week and a new Corsair PSU I could have just bought a decent one from the get go. Learned my lesson, now moving on. Removed the blue fan w/led though and use that to this day.

3 out of 5 eggsSlightly different model than prior

Pros: Great price - Rebate

Cons: Missing 2 SATA RAILS from last exact same model.

Other Thoughts: Had this power supply for 5 years no problem. Then one day it died. Went to my history, found it, clicked it, still available as same model. Ordered, installed, CRACK. SATA POWER RAIL SNAPPED!!! WHY? Tension on cable. WTEFF! TENSION?

*GRUMBLE INTO GARAGE TO DEAD POWER SUPPLY TO PLUNDER SATA RAIL CONNECTOR*

Count SATA RAIL cables on old power supply. 1 x 2, 1 x 4.
Count SATA RAIL cables on NEW power supply. 1 x 2, 1 x 2..... WTEFF!!!!

So that's why the SATA rail didn't reach completely...

Solution: Had to begrudgingly move one SATA drive closer up closing up any free space between two drives which is bad cause it causes excess heat buildup...

Oh well.

So if you are looking to buy this as a replacement and were COUNTING ON THAT 1 x 4 SATA RAIL. You're hosed.

3 out of 5 eggs3 years later...

Pros: Lasted 3 years, mid range price, variety of connectors.

Cons: Finally died

Other Thoughts: After using the power supply for over 3 years to run the same computer through a number of upgrades, it finally failed on me giving me low voltages. It seemed quite stable up to this point.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy Dead in less than 6 monthes

Pros: It was Cheap

Cons: Died in less than 6 months of low to average use.

Other Thoughts: Please don't buy this unless you want to go through the effort of replace your power supply a short time later. Everyone knows that's always a good time.
