5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: very quiet operation with good air flow. Have one of these in a computer I built in Feb. 2012 and it's still going strong with no issues. Now, I build computers with this for people.

Cons: none.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: none

Cons: it is my understanding, after reading a report, that this power supply cannot supply 450w that it is probably single rail. The label never says the wattage?
Nor is there any safety labels like UL as would be required by the testing Laboratories . the unit in the report smoked at 450watts. I want a RMA TO RETURN IT.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

2 out of 5 eggsYou are going to need to buy adaptors

Pros: It was reasonably cheap

Cons: It has one, yes, thats right, one SATA power connector so you are going to have to buy at least one adaptor assuming you plan to have both hard drive and DVD drive installed.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if Newegg would specify the types and numbers of connectors

1 out of 5 eggsBad, misrepresented

Pros: Not many, if you want to see what a bad PSU does this is your opportunity to learn.

Cons: Misrepresented, I've had two of these, a black one and a white one, the black one I got with a case, this white one is identical except white and I seen it in a local shop for 30 bucks so I decided to buy it and take it home to test it (shop owner wouldn't let me buy it until I told him I didn't intend on using it in my computer) since my original died 6 days into it's life and yeah, it put's out less than 300 watts easy, wont run even a Pentium D based machine properly, it's also responsible for a damaged voltage regulator on my junk rigs motherboard, good thing it's a junk rig. The first one I got with my Apevia case doesn't actually say the words "450 watts" anywhere on it it's just part of the model name, which is actually not purely legal in Canada to do, it's against the CPA and BCCPA if you're from British Columbia, as it should be. Seriously, DO NOT BUY THIS.

Other Thoughts: I hope Newegg doesn't get stuck with these things, Neweggs a really decent company and doesn't deserve to have their name coupled with Apevia's like this.

1 out of 5 eggsThis thing sucks

Pros: None

Cons: everything about this PSU is a con .

Other Thoughts: It died within 6 months, I shipped it back to Apevia for RMA. I had to pay for shipping costs which was 1/2 the price of the PSU. They sent me the same exact one back.
Refurbished one never worked. I am not going through anymore trouble for this piece of sxxx. Thing was really cheap and you get what you pay for.

Manufacturer Response:

When we provide RMA services, we never send out refurbished units. They are always taken directly from inventory.

3 out of 5 eggsGot what I paid for.

Pros: It's cheap.

Cons: It's cheap and died on me after ~2 months. I bought two of these and the other one is still working. The one that died was in a system that was on 24/7 as a home surveillance recording just a single camera. I really should have known better.

The cost of getting it replaced would probably be more than just buying a new one.

Other Thoughts: I really should have thought this all through and read some of the reviews before getting this thing. The other one still works but it isn't on 24/7 like this one was. So I take half the blame and give half the stars.
