5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: I have owned this PSU for quite some time and have yet to experience the issues described in other, lower reviews. The fan is very nice looking and the braided sleeve for the cords is also a nice touch. As for pure power, I have yet to tell whether it will be able to withstand my build. (Will update this when that time rolls around).

Cons: One thing I did notice right out of the box is that then braided cords do make cable management slightly more difficult. I am using a Rosewill THRONE-W case which has lots of space for management, as for other cases this might be a small problem. Aside from that the screws don't line up exactly where I'd like them to in my case, there are holes for it, but not where I'd have liked.

Other Thoughts: When it comes to this PSU I think it's meant for lower end builds or middle builds even. However, I don't think it's meant for OP gaming builds. Just a note: DO NOT POWER THIS ON WITHOUT A MOTHERBOARD! IT WILL SHORT CIRCUIT!! That being said, you can use a paper clip and bend it to go into the green slot and a ground slot on the mobo connector and it won't short.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed the moment I tryed powering my PC.

Pros: Cost.

Cons: This power supply failed the exact moment I tried to power on my PC with a Asus Rampage Extreme with a Power Cooler R9 280 card. $70 for a 900W power supply may be to go to be true and trust me, it is.

Manufacturer Response:

Pros: 900w PSU*
Cheap**
Irony is kinda funny though. The manufacturers description of the item describes the opposite of what this thing really is.

Cons: *Not really
**Till you realize return shipping will eat into money that could have been spent on something more useful, like maybe a paper weight or a pet rock!

Other Thoughts: Purchased 7 of these, all but one makes a low humming sound when under half load and above. One died while under a 700w load (and gave out a smell of burning PCB). The rest will shut down when put under a load of 750w or more for any prolonged period. made sure to balance the load over all rails. While testing, a random PSU power failure also managed to corrupt the motherboard BIOS and several files on the main HDD. Luckily, the board has a dual bios.
All of the units I bought are defective in some way and none of them come even close to their supposed specifications. Avoid this PSU, you're better off getting a cheapo unit that has people behind it whom are actually honest about it's capability.
