2 out of 5 eggs50% DOA

Pros: -Inexpensive
-Good for lightweight office PCs I build with room for expansion

Cons: -I ordered two, and one was dead on arrival. RMAing stuff is a pain.
-Not sure I'd want to push this thing to it's 500w max output

Other Thoughts: Original and RMA-replacement units now have been in service for a month+ with no issues.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Power supply ever...

Pros: None at all....

Cons: Quite literally worst PSU ever. I have a new build I was working on for my wife. She wanted to play diablo 3. I got an EVGA X58 SLI motherboard and an intel I7 920. with a 650ti video card. even with no hdd, dvd drive just board and video card hooked up it would not power on it would just barely start the fans. used an old psu rated at 350w I had as a tester and the PC powered on fine. So much for this P*S. I RECOMMEND YOU TAKE THIS WORNING DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY SAVE YOURSELF!!!!! I FAILED AND DIDN'T HEED THE WARNINGS. I bought Apevia fans before and they were fine figured I would try this out. ULTIMATE fail.

Manufacturer Response:

You can do an RMA through us for the power supply to get an exchange on the PSU if you are still under our warranty period. You can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

2 out of 5 eggsHAHAHAHA

Pros: Its cheap

Cons: it makes smoke when you load it over say 300~ watts for almost any period of time.

Other Thoughts: This 500 watt psu makes a very nice sub 300 watt psu.

don't buy it expecting to power 500 watts worth of equipment and play games or fold or mine with it. It is simply not good enough for those long hours stressed out.

2 out of 5 eggsDead in 6 days

Pros: It worked for six days. And didn't break any of my other components when it suddenly stopped working.

Cons: Died while I was testing my new graphics card on it.

Other Thoughts: While it was running, I always got the smell of burning plastic, but other than that theirs nothing other to add but my disappointment to when i finally got around to testing it. Never got the chance to see if it would run my card or the heat it generated.

1 out of 5 eggsI must have got a bad one

Pros: None I would say

Cons: This PSU must have had something defective with it, because after some hours of use, it smelled burnt. It killed my module of RAM, and my motherboard. I have replaced the motherboard, but the RAM replacement will be soon. I have used a different PSU and the RAM still doesn't work. I have also used the RAM in another PC and it didn't work. So, I would not recommend this PSU. The power supply isn't something you want to try to get cheap, put some more money into it, and get an Antec or Corsair PSU.

Other Thoughts: I wish I could say something nice about this PSU, but I don't have anything good about it.

2 out of 5 eggsFried everything in 6 months

Pros: Ran for 6 months, if you consider that long...

Cons: Fried EVERYTHING in 6 months, was offered replacement PSU unit so they could fry my next rig, no thank you.

Other Thoughts: Turns out after a bit more digging that Apevia is the name brand on tier 5, a list comprised of TomsHardware that rates PSU brands on reliability, and Apevia is on the worst tier.

2 out of 5 eggsFRIED MY HARD DRIVE! horrible support

Pros: Had the necessary amount of sata ports i needed, worked fine for a day. smelled sort of like BBQ when it went out which i guess is a plus. if you have any pesky hard drives you want ruined, this will do the trick!

Cons: Power cord was not provided, and within the second day i had it, i plugged int he cord, turned it on, and started to smell something burning. IMEDIATELY turned it off, and a thin wisp of smoke was coming out of my power supply.

Contacted Aapevia about this, and i got some indian jerk on the other end who outright REFUSED TO HELP!

A week later after i ordered my new power supply (LEPA N Series N500-SA 500W ATX12V) I booted up my computer to find that it FRIED MY HARD DRIVE! wouldn't even spin up. luckily it was only a boot drive, and i only had a few drivers on it. i would be out for blood if i had any important files on it.

Other Thoughts: I know some people will take this review with a grain of salt, but please, whatever you do, do not skimp on a power supply. I am lucky that all it fried was a $20 hard not my $150 CPU or anything else. at time of posting, the LEPA has NO negative reviews, and mine is still going strong.

Only reason i am giving it 2 stars is because after dealing with APEVIA i called newegg (absolutely furious at the time) and i was greeted by a friendly voice who offered to replace any damaged parts that were purchased from them (I did not buy the hard drive from them though)

Manufacturer Response:

As long as you are under our warranty period, we'd be willing to do an exchange on the bad unit.

1 out of 5 eggsDead Dead Dead

Pros: Specs Looks Good

Cons: Died after 48 days

Other Thoughts: Went over the RMA form from Apevia and it says it have to be shipped back in it's original package. Who keeps a box after 48 days? Looks like no RMA for me.

We do not require the original packaging if you are doing an exchange on a bad product. The form on our Web site is for distributors, not end-users.
