The SeaSonic S12 Energy Plus power supply is designed for people who need lots of power delivered in a balanced manner for extreme stability. This 550W PSU has four 18A +12Vrails to spread your power needs around. The mobo connectors allow you to use anything from a standard 20P+4P for a standard ATX12V setup to a 24P+8P EPS12V setup for dual CPUs.

Once you’ve got the mobo and CPU powered you need to run power to your peripherals. With nine molex, two FDD and six SATA connectors you don’t have to worry about running out. Dual 6P PCIe connectors support multiple video cards for gamers and graphics professionals.

Keeping everything cool is a 120mm bottom mounted fan. The dual ball bearing fan has and automatic control to balance noise and cooling. Instead of being hard mounted to the PSU housing the fan is insulated by rubber grommets to reduce transmitted vibrations. A honeycomb mesh on the back panel virtually eliminates restrictions to the airflow for maximum cooling efficiency.

  • newegg ATX12V and EPS12V Compatible Compatible with the ATX12V and EPS12V standards, the SeaSonic S12 Energy Plus SS-550HT power supply provides maximum stable power to drive the latest Intel and AMD processors as well as other components for desktop and even sever computer systems.
  • newegg 550W Maximum Power A maximum power of 550W delivers safe, reliable output for mainstream computer systems.

5 out of 5 eggsFive years old this week

Pros: Mine is five years old this week. I am using it to write its own review. I bought it after a series of lesser brand power supplies failed. I ran it in a AMD 4400 build for years, and then for years in an Intel 920 build. I expect it will still kicking in my next buld.

Did I mention the neighborhood lightning strike? Took out my next door neighbor's phones and I lost the circuit board in my heater. The power supply was on and running at the time, and it didn't mind a bit.

It is quiet too. I can't hear it at all under normal use. But it will spin up if I start something computationally heavy.

Cons: You can't find them anymore.

But you can find other Seasonic power supplies. Buy yourself one! It will cost you extra. But you will only have to buy it once.

5 out of 5 eggsSeasonic s12

Pros: I've owned this PSU since I think October of 2008 and I'm typing this waaaay late but Seasonic deserves at least some sort of kudos as it's the end of June 2012 and it's still running strong.

Quiet. Reliable as all hell. Has been near it's max with all my peripherals and formerly running HD4850s in crossfire. And those were pretty power hungry.

Cons: none thus far. a big kudos to Seasonic for a dang reliable product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Power Supply

Pros: This is a great power supply. I have been running it for more than two years, almost 24/7, in a room with no air conditioning that can get up to 90°F in the summer (albeit in a case with very good airflow.) The power supply is quiet and has survived several power blackouts on an unreliable UPS. Plenty of connectors (I have a lot of devices in my drive bays.)

Cons: When I first got it, every once in a while I would have to push the power button on my case more than once to turn the system on, but that seems to have disappeared, and could just as easily be a problem with the power button on the case.

Other Thoughts: Soundblaster Audigy with bay drive, GeForce 8800 GTS, three 7200rpm hard drives, two optical drives, ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe and a socket 939 Athlon X2 4400+ Toledo w/ 1024kb L2 cache per core. Oh, and a good old floppy drive.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat attention to detail

Pros: Seasoniq thought of everything - wires bundled in snake skin for clean routing. 12V accesory power connectors have disconnect tabs to prevent wires from working loose in the connector. this product feels really well built, and it's super quiet. Can not hear it run at all, even when I put my ear by the fan. Awesome product. Great job, Seasoniq

Cons: None found yet.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Ive had this thing for about 5 years now - and Its powered everything Ive thrown at it and more. It stays really cool, quite, and powers everything extremely well in my workstation PC. Build quality is also excellent. Comes with all the wires youll ever need.

Cons: Nothing.

Other Thoughts: I recommend Seasonic for everyone. If I were to need another power supply for another build, I would definitely buy from this company.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply

Pros: You really can't go wrong with a Seasonic power supply. Sure, it costs a bit more, but it's worth not having to worry about power supply problems. This unit runs stable, cool, fan is extremely quiet, efficient, power hookups for just about everything you might need, plenty of 4-pin molex and proper (includes the +3.3V) SATA power connectors. Comes with a stylish black finish.

Cons: Why no 3-pin fan RPM-monitoring connection for the motherboard?

Other Thoughts: Maybe next time I'll spring for the modular version.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quality, there's nothing else to say. What you hear online about Seasonic's work is true.

Cons: If you are a neat-freak, you might freak with the extra wires, but that's your problem.

Other Thoughts: Take it out of the box, right off the bat you know it is well made as it weighs a ton. It's silent, cables are wrap with mesh, so there's no tangling. And lastly, you do get a case sticker
