5 out of 5 eggs24/7 now for about 3 yrs and counting

Pros: 24/7 for about 3 years now and counting. This thing is quiet and obviously very reliable as the PC it is in stays on all the time. This PC and the motherboard/CPU in it two years ago both ran overclocked chips, plus there are 3 hard drives, two DVD drives, and currently an 8800GT.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy again.

1 out of 5 eggsdied after 2 years...

Pros: kinda worked for 2 years i guess? i was able to have an advanced RMA ship out the same day i notified them. which is surprising considering the other peoples comments about support.

Cons: cost $150 and died in 2 years... i have old no name cheapo PSU's still alive in other PC's after 5 years of the same 24/7 use.

Other Thoughts: This is my second high end PSU to fail very prematurely of the only two I have ever bought. I am starting to think its a waste of money.

I had issues with intermittant crashing, and my mobo battery dying, and now its all making sense... this was all because of my PSU.

I only hope the replacement works and lasts longer than this one, even though they processed and shipped my advanced RMA in the same day, its 6 days shipping from Cali and I have no computer :(

1 out of 5 eggsconnected to an online ups and still failed

Pros: Better than previous power supplies I had owned with the possible exception of PC Power & Cooling

Cons: Failed after 2 years even with being connected to an online UPS. I didn't push this unit. I had an 8800gts video card that was not OC'd and two hard drives and a Core2 Extreme x6800 that was barely OC'd and always had low temps.

Other Thoughts: This failure took out my CPU and RAM and cost me way too much in down time. This time I'm getting the best PS I can find.

5 out of 5 eggsIt saves you money

Pros: This power supply is 80plus ceritified. For 24/7 uptime, I made the calculations and I'm saving $20/year. So, it practically pays for itself.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Get it because it will pay for itself.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet Power Supply

Pros: This 650W supply is the quietest supply I've used. Even out of the case (for testing), the fan is hardly noticible. The voltages across all of the rails are very consistent and well within spec.

Cons: Cables, cables and more cables

Other Thoughts: Wish the Seasonic M (for modular) series was as quiet as the S-series. Unfortunately reviews indicate that the smaller fan in the M series doesn't shutoff once activated and is much louder than the S-series fan, once activated.

1 out of 5 eggsAn update on the replacement unit

Pros: Just an update - I wrote the review detailing the random memory problem and the PCI-E cable frying and taking out my video card.

I got my RMA unit and it was DOA.

Cons: Just know who you are dealing with -- a RMA costs around $15 bucks to mail, not to mention the time involved in installation. I have to remove my heatsink / fan to replace my PSU because of my case design.

Other Thoughts: I'm giving up on this company. I have purchased a PC Power and Cooling unit and I'm hoping it will just come, be un-sexy, and sit in my computer and quietly do its job.

1 out of 5 eggsPoof! goes the PS AND video card

Pros: It seemed to work sometimes

Cons: I had random memory failures that made no sense. I never suspected the PS because of the great reviews. Memory working for a few months at a time, then failing? The PS fried the PCI/e power cable to my 8800GT card and ruined the PCI/e power receptacle on the video card too. I asked Seasonic (with photo evidence) to replace the PS AND the video card since their product killed it (I was lucky just the PS and video went.) They never acknowledged this in any discussion they had with me. I got a powersupply locally to get my computer running and low and behold, my memory problems dissappeared!

I think Seasonic really owes me a new video card. At least that's all it fried. I'll never spend a dime on their products again.

Other Thoughts: I sunk the dough into a high-rated power supply so I could have a stable system (built 2/2008) and had all this happen. Do yourself a favor and find a different supplier. Everything is fun and games until *poof*, and then you know who you are dealing with.

4 out of 5 eggs5 yr Warranty from date of manufacture?

Pros: Very well built and low power consumption. I bought this from Newegg on 3/19/07. It made a pop sound 2 days ago and it's dead as a rock. Contacted SeaSonic for RMA#. Website says: "Under normal operation, RMA returns will be repaired /replaced within 7 working days after receipt by us then return to customer at our cost."

I bought it because of the reviews, low energy consumption and 5 yr warranty!

Cons: Price :(

I paid $168 with tax and shipping. Wish i would have got it with the $35 MIR!

Other Thoughts: Most I have ever paid for a power supply and the first to ever die on me....just my luck.
Would have gave it 5 eggs if the price was better!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: I've had this PSU running my system for well over 3 years now with nary a hiccup on its part. Ran 2 8800 GT's and 5 hard drives without a problem.

Cons: Not modular... extra cables are hard to hide.

Other Thoughts: Won this at a College LAN party, so I couldn't beat the price! When I got this I started upgrading the rest of my system to go with it... many problems with mobo's, etc. but the PSU is still chugging along.

5 out of 5 eggsTOP PSU

Pros: This is probably in the top 5 desktop PSUs on the market. Awsome 'continuous' power of 650 watts, 4 -12V rails 18amps a piece and 88% efficient. For quanity and quality of power for the stability and longevity of any system this is the power supply to get period.

Cons: none.
