Excellent
- Pros: So quiet I can only hear a noise if I take off the case and put my ear next to the fan.
Fits SFX-compatible cases like microATX.
- Cons: The basic dimensions of the PSU itself are 125mm x 100mm x 64mm, and the fan housing protrudes an additional 12.5mm from that. It slightly overlaps a corner of my motherboard, which would prevent me from plugging anything into there if that was necessary (which it isn't).
- Other Thoughts: I replaced a PSU that sounded like a jet engine, with intensely heated exhaust too. The Seasonic is worlds better. Hopefully it is as reliable as people say.
Clagmaster
- Pros: Very well made and reliable power supply.
Power supply is especially well suited for legacy micro-atx cases. Connectors for a peripheral devices are more than adequate for a micro-atx build. Connectors are of perfect length for a micro-atx case.
Power supply is highly reliable.
- Cons: No serious cons that would prevent me from buying this power again or recommending this power supply to friends.
The 80mm fan is audible during opertion but not loud.
- Other Thoughts: I'm satisfied. My experiences are with the predecessor of this power supply. From what I can make of the specifications and pictures from then and now, this is the same unit upgraded to current SFX12V (v3.1) standards. I feel these comments are applicable.
I purchased this power supply as part of a complete rebuild of my Pastors 10-year old Dell in late 2007. This rebuild consisted of an ASUS M2A-VM 690G mobo, a 65W Athlon X2 4600+ CPU, 2 GB of Mushkin DDR2-800 memory, a Seagate ST3250310AS 250GB harddrive, Pioneer DVR-112D DVD/CD optical drive, and a floppy drive. This was powered by a Seasonic MicroATX-SS300V 300W SFX12V 3.0, the direct predecessor of this power supply. All of this was installed in the original Dell case that would only permit an SFX power supply.
This power supply has functioned in my Pastors PC for nearly 2 years without failure.
Perfect for my build!
- Pros: Stable power output, I sought out an 80 plus unit, and this one has done its job well! Fan is very quiet, but not silent. Temperature stays as cool as can be. SeaSonic has impressed me. Spend the extra dollars and get this quality PSU.
- Cons: Fan mount may be too tall for some ITX cases. I ended up making my own case since the PSU was too close to the e8400 and was inhibiting proper ventilation.
- Other Thoughts: Powering ZOTAC nForce 630i mini-itx board with e8400. Running nvidia 8400GS (at 1x PCI-e) and 3gb DDR2 @ 800. Western digital Velociraptor 300gb.
